Six Flags will serve BEER.

Postby MacUser » December 19th, 2007, 8:34 am

Next time you and your family visit Six Flags.. be aware that beer will probably be sold. I'm sure that will make the atmosphere a bit more.. er Jolly.

I just heard this on the Radio News. So you know it absolutely true.

It helps to be a little sloshed when you see kids getting their legs cut off.

I've no doubt this move is in direct response to the almost 50% decline in profit for the Six Flags Company since the accident at the Louisville Six flags park which severed a 13 yer olds legs.

Six Flags has served beer for years, at least Kentucky Kingdom has, because the last time I sold tickets for a youth day there, I noticed they were selling it. I know Disney and Universal do as well.

The last time we went to Sea World in San Diego about 10 yrs ago, I believe there was a beer garden there.

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens are owned by Anhauser Busch.

Regarding Universal, I was at a concert there watching Michael W. Smith with my friend and this goliath walks in front of us and just stands there. He was like a big bald Bigfoot and he not only blocked our view of the stage but of the entire other side of the park as well as the sky and sun. After a few songs, I'd worked up into a pretty good mad and told my friend I was going to say something and right then the guy turned sideways to look around, holding a huge cup of beer. I decided not to say anything.

This should not come as a shock. Even Chuck E. Cheese serves beer.

Most of the amusement parks I have been to serves beer. Never saw to much of a problem with it really.

One of my favorite parks is next to a brewery, Busch Gardens Williamsburg. They have a 1 hour beer school, where you get to make your own beer. 8)

Ours doesn't. I don't think I've ever been to a Chuck E. Cheese with beer.

DeWayne,

I knew that Epcot and Disney/MGM served alcohol, but I wasn't aware that Magic Kingdom did. Do you know for sure on Magic Kingdom?

Beer

Postby Pastor Gary » December 19th, 2007, 5:46 pm

Not only them: I hear that Ruby Tuesdays and other dining establishments will, too.

Seriously -- is it big news that amusement parks, stadiums, and other places sell beer?

I hope the Six Flags in Atlanta doesn't start selling beer. Those hoods in the ATL don't need anything to make them worse. Somebody gets shot or beaten to a pulp down there every year.

No, you are right - Magic Kingdom does not. That was a careless blanket statement on my part.

and yes, DaJudge, I agree with you on Six Flags Over Georgia. It sounds like it's getting to be a rougher and rougher place to be. I kinda' miss those innocent days of youth spent there without a care in the world about safety.

 No wonder Chuck E Cheese came stumbling in last time and was banging into everything thing. I thought it was the costume.. but now I know the rest of the story.

For the record. Ideally.. No, I don't think group/family oriented promoted activity places should be selling booze at the drink fountains. One can drink to many colas and just have to visit the bathroom line often... drink to much booze and become a deadly accident waiting to happen.

There are plenty of other places to get your relaxing buzz. I desire you to be ALERT when it affects my family / friends.

Humble 2 cents.

Only if you are in KY/TN (or maybe a few surrounding states that still have wet/dry distinctions between towns/counties.

I grew up up north, and it's sold everywhere, so I don't think about it, but many do. In fact I had a coworker who skipped our department Christmas lunch yesterday because it was at O'Charlies which sells alcohol. (I enjoyed the free meal myself, nice steak, chicken & shrimp combo!)
