I feel really weird about this.

Postby Brian » December 30th, 2007, 7:27 am

I am not sure if I should even be doing this, if it is appropriate here in this venue but I feel that I am being led to humble myself and ask for help on behalf of my father and family.

As you know, my mom passed away on christmas morning and was laid to rest two days later on what would have been her 52th birthday. The Lord has really blessed our family in such a time as this by supporting us with friends and family who loved my mom very much and are reaching out to aid my dad in what they can do. A memorial fund was set up in my mothers honor to help with some of the expenses and such. About $1700 has been raised so far! The Lord is an Awesome God and has already been so amasing we can't put it into words.
My mom use to babysit this little girl before she got too sick to care for her. The girls parents came over to dads yesterday and did something that only a miracle of God can explain. They knew of our struggle with finances and felt moved to do something in honor of my mom. They gave my father the money to buy moms headstone! Not only that, they bought a deul stone with space for when my dad passes, and also bought the plot beside her so they can be together when his time comes! That is truly amasing!!! We are such in awe right now that God is working to bring things together for our family.
But as you know, funerals cost much more than just a couple thousand dollars. In total, I believe the bill was right at $5000. I know that no one likes to talk about money, even more so to ask for help! I hate it! But for some reason I feel I am being led to step out and ask for help in spite of my personal feelings. I can't get in out of my head. I keep telling myself that it isn't appropriate. That Jude2 isn't the place for this kind of thing. And BY ALL MEANS please...PLEASE if I am being led by my flesh and this happens to NOT be the right way and more learned men and women of God have red flags because of this request then PLEASE PLEASE remove my request and simply pray for Gods will to play out for the sake of my father. I sometimes don't know what to say, how to ask, what words to use. I have to step out in faith because if I try to reason it out myself I usually come up short.

All that being said, I simply want to ask to be able to post an address for my moms memorial fund. I know sometimes people feel odd about offering money. They don't want to offend. Trust me, its much more odd to ask for it than to offer! But if anyone feels moved to give anything, 2 dollars or 10, please pray about it and do what you feel the Lord would have you do.
There has already been someone from here to step out and give because they felt the Lord move on them to do so. For that I am MOST GRATEFUL! Thank you very much!

I can't even put into words how much you prayers and support have already meant to us. I have shared with my dad all the prayers that I know you have offered up and he is eternally gratefull. Thank you , and I love you all very much!

The Wand Kay Peery Memorial Fund
P.O. Box 61
Daleville, Va. 24083

This address is to my fathers place of employment. He is one of the managers at the Pizza Hut in Daleville and the store manager is allowing funds to come through there to make it easier on my father trying to handle it alone.

Again, thank you very much for even letting me post this. If it out of order Pastor Gary, please remove it with no hesitation!! I just thought I could ask and let God move where He wanted to move. Thank you and God bless you.

Brother I have continued in prayer for you and your family. I feel there is nothing wrong with asking your Brothers and sisters in christ for help in such a situation. I am praying and believing the need will be met.
Again if there is anything you need please let me know.

Thank you Kevin, thank you very much. You have really blessed my heart with your kind words and the letter you sent to me. I haven't quite been myself these last few days. I have been rather quiet around the house, which is really unusual for a big mouth like me. :) But I just had to post again and tell you specifically how you have blessed my family. May God bless you and keep you this new year!

Thank you and God bless you to everyone for your prayers because I know by them we are able to make it through this time of grief. The Lord is good I will glorify His name!!
