Well, SHAAAA. Huckabee DID win tonight! (sorry, FQ)

If Fred is in the low teens, he may well drop this week. If not, after SC he will drop out.

It really doesn't matter since you are now voting for the only REAL conservative with an EXCELLENT rating on immigration, Tancredo...oh wait, Duncan Hunter!

Iowa predictions for Iowa

Postby Dr. Ron » January 4th, 2008, 5:49 am

Yall don't know Fred! He is in it for the long haul. He knows how to massage the system properly. He knows that the caucus trail is not a true predictor.

In a poll taken by Fox yesterday (per Laura Ingles) Fred was a 60% favorite with voters. The caucus crowd don't always get it right.....it is more of a barometer for the candidates and the media uses it to try to sway voters later on. Remember who won the dems for Iowa last time......that's right...a loud mouth who had a temper tantrum.

Hilary was chosen by the Fox poll as the candidate of choice for dems.

If Obama wins in NH, the dems will draft Gore to come out and be the candidate....no way Obama beats any republican.....and the dems know it.

It is interesting to watch this happen.
Dr. Ron

Fred real support is here in the South. I think he'll start making strong showings when we start getting into the Southern primaries.

If he is the candidate, I will be glad to vote for him. I started out on his side, and may yet end up there. I think Huckabee is a better choice, but Fred is definitely my second choice! How about Huck/Fred or Fred/Huck?

Steve, what makes Huckabee a better choice than Thompson? Is it because he surged in Iowa in the month of December?

I will not vote Tancredo or Hunter though i think they are fine, upstanding patriots. Tancredo made it plain the entire time that his only reason for running was to bring attention to the immigration problem. He did that and never had any intentions of being president.

Thompson has a record of being conservative. He has a record of not being a politician. He term limited himself and stuck to his word even when his party begged him to stay in office. They said we need you, 9/11 had just happened but he kept to his word.

Huckabee ran for LT. Gov. of Arkansas and won. The Governors seat came open the next year due to scandal and he got in. he then pardoned the man that blew the whistle and made that happen. I mention that because that is what one learns in politics 101. Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. Huck served his two terms and immediately set his eyes on the White House. WHY? He hasn't put Arkansas on the map. Godd grief it's Arkansas.

He stood in the way of ICE when they raided chicken plants to round up illegals. He offered discounted tuition to illegals and denied the same for citizens, sons and daughters of Arkansas. He raised taxes on all sorts of things that the poor, working man was paying and even started an internet usage tax in the state.

The only things that made Huckabee surge in December were his southern way of talking and his Christianity. Those will not help him in New England, New York, California, Ohio, or in the south (he'll have to fight Thompson there). He is a huge Bush supporter which will not resonate well with many and the democrats are chomping at the bit to run against him. This morning Jesse Jackson all but endorsed Huck. What does that tell you about his conservative record?

Dr. ron is right about Fred. He, from the beginning, said he was not playing the game of politics and allowing Iowa and NH to decide for the American people who would be president. A win in South Carolina will be more votes and more electoral votes than the folks that win in Iowa and NH.

Ron, you may very well be right about Gore and if he gets in the race he could win it all. Honestly, America as a whole may be ready for a black president but a handful of folks aren't and that scares me for Obama.

just a point of note from an IOWAN... I had 2 pieces of snail mail, adn 1 phone call from the Huck campaign all month.

I had too many to count calls from the Obama campaign. and nearly daily snailmails. the Shrillery campaign folk were nearly as "bad". In fact, on two seperate occasions, I was hanging up on them when the doorbell rang with the door-to door callers for her campaign!

By in large, the democrats were the biggest "offenders" in surging their positions at me during the Month of December - it was relentless. the Romney folks only had a couple more than Huckabee, and neither called me on Christmas week, guess who called the most that week? (yup, Obama campaign - those prerecorded calls are stupid - The 26th, the phone was nearly ringing off the hook!)

and, in case someone just plays it off and says that I was an exception. I had talked with folks at church, at work and family and friends on all corners of central Iowa (hay, it is caucus time), and their feelings were exactly the same as mine, though some thought Shrillery was worse than Obama.
Thanks, Brent "RamboPreacher" Hoefling

No, I was supporting him before then. I just think he is a better man, that's all. You can say I am buying into a "bunch of lies" if you want. You can say he's really not a Christian, and he's using that to his advantage blah blah blah.

I researched the man, I researched Thompson, and I came down believing more for Huckabee. As I have said, if Thompson gets the nomination, I have no problem voting for him. It all boils down to personal preference.

A lot of this is wrong, and misinformation. I tire of refuting it every time you post something. I encourage everyone to research it themselves.

Steve, you are the only person refuting it.

For the record, I never said Huckabee was not a Christian. If you can't read my posts any better than that then I see why you cannot see that Huckabee is not as conservative as he claims.

The FACTS dispute it, FQ! For goodness sakes, man, do some research instead of Googling "Why Mike Huckabee is an idiot" or something!

And no, you have never said "Mike Huckabee is not a Christian". You just imply that what he is doing is, in your opinion, NOT Christian, and those of us who "are sucked in", in your opinion, are misinformed, gullible and STUPID.

Huckabee is what he is. And a LOT of America likes him! A lot do not like him. Only time will tell, and your opinion nor mine means SQUAT to what the outcome will be.

Tell ya what, you vote for whomever you want to, and I will do the same.

Thanks for your opinions, FQ.
