No. He attended Punahou School in Honolulu until his family moved to Indonesia for a time. While there, here attended two schools -- one a Roman Catholic Parochial school, and a second one operated by Muslims. That would not be unusual in Indonesian, the largest Muslim nation in the world. Most schools and businesses are owned/operated by Muslims. It is not true that he went to some kind of radical Islamic school.

I am not an Obama supporter, but the kind of ridiculous political innuendo being orchestrated by the Clintons is just beyond belief.

WHAT!???

I say "I know he went to a Muslim school" and you say "NO. He went to a Muslim school."

Where did I use "ridiculous political inuendo" or use ther term "radical"?

Gerald -- chill off a minute... yes, you were technically accurate in saying "I know he went to a Muslim school" --- but that observation has been the subject of the Clinton smear machine email chain, and it is like saying of someone who went to public school in Russia "I know he went to a Communist school." He went to the school available to him in a Muslim country: a school operated by Muslims, because all the schools (except parochial schools) in Indonesia are technically "Muslim Schools."

I was not ripping on you, I was ripping on the kind of poke-poke/wink-wink insinuation inherent in "he went to a Muslim school."
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

I heard the same thing Gerald but not from a Clinton email. I don't get those. I heard it from conservative talkers such as Fox News and radio. My question is what does one learn in a Muslim school? Are you saying that he merely attended a public school ran by a Muslim government or did he attend an Islamic school run by an Islamic government? By the way, has his grandmother ever been allowed out to give her side of the story?
I have piped unto you, and ye have not danced!

But isnt that like saying "Well He only read Hustler cause that's all there was for him to read" as an excuse that the contents would not affect him?

In other words, How can saying "It was the only school available to him" seclude him from any type of Muslim outlook being taught to him?

If one is determined to paint Senator Obama as some kind of sleeper radical, or Muslim sympathizer, any "evidence" at all will do, I suppose.

You need -- really need -- to live in another region or country for a while, Gerald. I know people personally who are...
...Pentecostals who attended Catholic Universities
...Buddhists who attended Catholic High Schools
...Buddhists who attended Southern Baptist schools
...all kinds of other permutations. And none of them converted or were unduly influenced by the ownership and "outlook" of the school. It is just not that uncommon in many places for people to select a quality school of a different religion from their own.

But in all those examples the schools are at least nominally Christian which -unless you subscribe to the belief that all religions are equal- would be a beneficial influence.

It is a rare individual who can spend time in any type of school and not have some type of influence upon them.

My child stayed in a Catholic preschool and at the end of two years was crossing himself.

The belief that a school will have no influence upon an individual is as far out as saying it would turn a person into a radical.

Hey guess what, I'm a Pentecostal who went to a Baptist School!

I agree with Pastor Gary, Gerald, I think you really need to move to California or Seattle, and go to a radically charismatic church, and drink coffee in a coffeehouse with "black" people. :)

I OBJECT to this last comment. You cross a line. And the comment is uncalled for.

I have made no disparaging comments on "Black" people or made any comment that interaction with them would be something shocking.

I'll top your school experience: For two years I went to a school that was 99% Black. I was the only white kid in class.

I was only poking fun a little, and I'm sorry..
I didn't mean to imply what you said by my quotations either. Only that we should try to downplay differences.
I don't like the thread, but the question itself is not an unfair question to ask.

Okay. Gerald, you must be right, Obama was influenced by his schooling immersion in Islam, and is tainted... in the same way that your attendance at an almost all-black school has caused you to adopt the thinking and ways of the black community.

Is Kentucky so far different from the rest of the world or is this the typical jab at the the south east because I have yet to live in an area where in TN that this wasn't true.

Apparently so -- or perhaps Gerald is not a typical Kentuckian? I am not sure.

Thank you Mr. Danger. I noticed that little jab by PG too, and I didn't appreciate it. You would think that someone who is from Alabama would know that we Southerners aren't isolated back woods hicks. We gots them internets and cable TVs just like all you citified West Coasters and HI-WHY-ANS. We do know what is going on in the world, and have exposure to other cultures. Some of us even have college degrees and travel. I for one, even know a few Southerners that even wear shoes and have all their teeth.

PG,

Questioning to what degree of influence Obama's educational background has had, should be something that everyone considers. They should also question the educational influence of all of the candidates. Our views are a result of the influences of our experiences, and schooling is a major experience. Logically it had to have some degree of influence. Did he attend a radical Islamic school? I don't know. If I were considering casting my vote for him, which I'm not, it is something that I would have an interest in knowing. I don't believe that questioning that influence makes me a racist, I believe that it makes me an informed voter.
