New Book on Demonic Possession & Exorcism

Postby JStephenConn » January 14th, 2008, 11:17 am

The Devil Called Collect: The Exorcism of Jessica Leek, is a new book which has just been released. It is the true story of a young woman, deeply involved in Witchcraft and the occult, who is possessed by a legion of demons. She was completely delivered in a week-long exorcism, relying only on the name of Jesus Christ and the power of His blood. This well documented book, verified by credible witnesses, is said to be the most complete account of an exorcism ever given in a Protestant/Evangelical context.

The website for the book is: www.TheDevilCalledCollect.com

The Amazon listing is: http://www.amazon.com/Devil-Called-...k ... 697&sr=1-1

As the author, I would sincerely appreciate any feedback from members of this forum.

I see that it was an initial phone call. Did you meet this young woman in person?

Yes, I met the woman, Jessica Leek. It took me three days to find her, and I drove 125 miles one-way to get her. I brought her to my home where she stayed with me, my wife and our children for a total of three weeks. She - or the demons in her - even tried to kill me. If I had known how severely possessed she was, I would not have brought her into my home, but God protected us and delivered her.

Will this book be available in stores?

Also, I noticed three ministry ordinations. Which credentials do you currently hold? Is there a short answer for your extensive journey in the ministry?

Initially, The Devil Called Collect will only be available from online bookstores, although some individual stores may carry it. It is listed in "Books in Print" and can be ordered from virtually any bookstore anywhere. I have self-published the book through iUniverse, which is owned by Barnes and Noble. They will only place a book from an unknown author like me in their bookstores after it becomes popular on line. I'm praying that will happen.

The book is currently in stock at Amazon.com, and will soon be available through more than 30 different online bookstores, both in the United States and abroad.

The short version of my peculiar journey: I was born into a Church of God Family and ministered in the COG for more than 20 years. I switched to the Assemblies of God when a COG Overseer tried to force me to teach some of the old unscriptural legalistic dogma of the COG. Those old "practical committments" were later tossed out by the COG. After pastoring an AOG church for several years, God opened a door for me to pastor a Spirit-filled Southern Baptist church and I took it. I also worked for the North Carolina Baptist Convention for a couple of years. I'm retired from the pastorate now. I'm still ordained as a Southern Baptist, but I have rejoined the Church of God. Sometimes God takes us down some interesting paths.

Stephen, you ought to run your questions past Carol Thompson at Christ for the Nations in Dallas. He's non-denominational and taught a course in deliverance at CFN in the 80s.

Thank you very much for your suggestion. I'm sure it is well intended, and I'm equally certain there are many things other people can teach me. However, I really don't know what you mean by "run your questions past...." What questions?

I first read the Bible cover to cover more than 50 years, ago. In the past half century I have studied it incessantly and have even taught the Bible on the college level. However, although I know the Bible very well, there are still things about God I don't fully understand. Then are you suggesting I should run my questions by some other teacher who, like me, doesn’t have perfect knowledge either? Actually, I've aready done that - many, many times. The things I don't understand are those things which God allows us mortals to know only "in part" while living in this world.

The things I don't understand about demonic possession and deliverance are things which the Bible does not tell us. I’ve taught seminars on Spiritual Warfare all over the United States and abroad and I’ve already read and listened to thousands of other people’s opinions and interpretations. Even the most learned Bible scholars and experienced ministers disagree on many of these. The Bible doesn't tell us everything we WANT to know - but I believe it tells us all we NEED to know. One of the best things about Heaven is that on the other side of the veil, when we see Jesus face to face, we will understand fully the mysteries that are beyond human comprehension.
