Brett Favre to retire from Packers

"Brett Favre has informed us of his intention to retire from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL," general manager Ted Thompson said in a statement. "He has had one of the greatest careers in the history of the National Football League, and he is able to walk away from the game on his own terms — not many players are able to do that.

He is going out at the end of one of his best seasons... That's a way to go... I wish him the best...

He's my brother's favorite player. He was a bit disappointed, but he didn't leave all broken down and a has-been. He went out great.

Most definately played the game great. Never undestood how he could be so good with that goofy side-armed toss, but it sure worked for him. Glad he went out like he did after a great year last year.

I'm so Happy and here's the reason why,

Brett won't antagonize my Vikings next year.

Your Vikings got enough to worry about with their quarterback. 8)

While I do not want to hi-jack this thread. I hate to see Brett retire, I think he could have gotten the Pack back to the Super Bowl.

Anyway, having said that, where does Brett rank with regards to all-time QB's?

Stats he's the best, but that doesn't always tell the whole story.

If you had to pick a QB to win one game for you where would you rank Brett?

I LOVE BRETT FAVRE!!!

I am glad he is retiring though. He had a good season this year so he gets to go out with a bang! I wonder if he'll move back to MS!?!

This is why I am happy about Brett's retirement, but not for the Vikings, but Da Bears. Before Lovie came to town Brett owned Da Bears, he had some of his best games against us. After Lovie became the coach, Da Bears have only lost 2 out of the last eight games to the Packers, including a 28 point win over Brett in his last game against Da Bears. 8)

He never really moved away; He has purchased and Kept a nice home in South MS; He lives there during the Offseason and a lot in b/n games. His home is in MS now.

I keep hearing this today, and I'm wondering why are people dogging Brett for crying during his conference yesterday? Maybe I think different 'cuz I've been around pentecostals my whole life, but is it a terrible thing for a man to show emotion and cry? :?
