Of course, after M.A. Tomlinson resigned and COGOP in general became more and more progressive, they choose the "concerned" path and there remained, with the message they believed with all of their heart and passion. The love and respect I had for them transcended our differences in belief and the christian walk. I changed - they didn't, simple as that, but none the superior, at least to me. When I get to heaven, they will welcome and rejoice with me, right along with the rest of my Kingdom brothers and sisters.

As someone who has family and friends in both denominations, I can heartily agree with you there. Many of those in TCOG are those that truly believed in the things they were taught, and still do. Some can't understand why with all the stuff in the 90's and a few in COGOP after last assembly the rest of the church changed. And yeah, some of them are, if I can use the word and not be labeled an elitist  , bitter over it while some have just moved on and don't harbor a grudge. They believed in the distinctives of COGOP teaching and still do. They had no desire to just be a part of a generic pentecostal denomination, they really believe in what they were taught and want to pass on that heritage. They'd hate the comparison, but in many ways they remind me of Catholics who were angered by Vatican II. It's not their fault they believed in things some find embarrassing and still do.

What I Believe:

I believe that for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows..............

We had to sing that little song in vocal/music class in Jr. High or high school. Does that make me old?

Not as old as remembering The Lennon Sisters sing it on the Lawrence Welk Show when Janet Lennon was 14 years old. Of course, I was a mere lad... but I sure had a crush on her. :D
