If your hair's to long.....

Postby Steve » August 16th, 2008, 3:08 pm

...there's sin in your heart
Get it cut today and make a new start
You'll live a life of fear and dread
With that tangled mess upon your head
If your hairs too long there's sin in your heart

Well, the rich young ruler came one day
To ask about the narrow way
But his hair was long and he couldn't be saved
The preacher looked at him through tears
And said the problem's on your ears
If your hair's too long there's sin in your heart

If your hair's too long, there's sin in your heart
Get it cut today and make a new start
You'll live a life of fear and dread
With that tangled mess upon your head
If your hairs too long there's sin in your heart

My friend if you will enter there
You'll not go there with your long hair
If your hair's too long, there's sin in your heart
They'll be hell behind with those I fear
Who wear their hair upon their ears
If your hair's too long there's sin in your heart

Those were the days! I don't know why, but I thought today about Leon Graves, Vernon Caruthers and other folks singing this song in Tennesse youth camps growing up.

It was such a HOOT.......and so TRUE!!

i was previledged to hear the BACKwood Brothers sing this at IYC. The group consisted of Frnak Hughes, Fred Fisher, SR, Raymond Pruit and AJ COULTER. It was four partround note harmony at its best. When the bass pazrt came out, I liked to croaked. IFFFFFF Yourrrr Hairsss toooo longggg. Then the tenor.
Then the lead There's sin in your heart. Good stuff. Good Fun!!

Yea, but at least now I don't have to eat a half a cup of peanut butter off a spoon and try to talk! :?

Those were the days!

I also like their version of "If Your Hair's Too Long", but my favorite is "If John the Baptist Used the King James Version, Then It's Good Enough For Me". Go to www.glorybugles.com to hear audio clips. Very funny stuff.

I remember this one (from out of TC in the late 80's/early 90's)... :P

We shall see the ring
We shall see the ring
We shall see the ring when it comes
When Murray and his boys
Get done we'll make some noise
We shall see the ring when it comes

or something like that.
