I have not asked him, but I am certain Voddie is NOT voting for Obama. His daughter has a rather large blog, and there are links to the Constitution Party on it. I would say that is where his political affiliation lies.

In other words, he's going to vote with Obama by not voting for McCain. I considered that strategy, too, because the Libertarians far resemble my own philosophy of government. But, in the end, I realized we cannot afford Obama as president. :? So, I vote for McCain.

I am amazed at the things that were said on this forum
Ummmmm U think you should study about the children of other politicians, which means NOTHING! Our vice now has a daughter that is a lesbian.
What about all of us preachers?
How many pastors have children that get messed up in things (drugs, pregnant, jail) are you going to imply that that is all the parents fault?
Surely you can not really believe that.....?????

She has done the right thing she is keeping the baby, 2 times when abortion would have been easier. I guess she should judge her daughter and hate her right????

I wonder if you knew all that your children had done would people make such ugly statements?

TC wrote:I have heard Voddie preach a few times at the baptist cemetery here in the Ville. While I like a lot of what he says. I really have to question his motivations on this one. To me it feels like a hit piece, trying to make others feel like they are hypocritical on the issue. Yet where is that same thoughts on Baptist (Black and otherwise) are willing to vote for obama in spite of the his stand of the murder of unborn children. I think we need to pull that log out of his eye before we start looking for splinters.

If you have followed Voddie's ministry, you would know that he is being consistent. He is stating what he has before about the roles of women and his belief about them. He is NOT trying to sway people to Obama, for goodness sakes!

Obviously you do not know his background. He is the pastor of a SBC church, NOT a "Black" church. He is more conservative than probably 95% of the people on this board.

Here are the links from his website for "Legal/Political". Hardly "liberal" or Obama-type links, and as you can see, the only political party link is for the Constitution Party.

Hit piece? Hardly. The man is stating his opinion, which is consistent with what he has stated before. If you care to search his writings/sermons, you will find this to be true. Or you can just wildly speculate as to his motives...

Alabama's electoral votes are safely in McCain's column, Tim. Feel free to vote your conscience.

Why would Christians down Palin for this?

Remember that Obama said he would not want his 17 year old daughters to get pregnant and not have the option of abortion. If Obama makes a deal out of this then that quote will HAUNT him.

Among whom? Will liberals hold it against him? No. Will conservatives? Yeah, but they wouldn't vote for Obama anyway. No real conservative is voting for Obama (note: I don't mean "no" as in absolute zero, I mean "no" as in not enough of 'em to matter). The fact that he said what he said just plays to his base. And, it gives him enough room to wiggle around in all that faith talk without getting slapped silly so that he can say he's a values candidate.

Just think, we can have the first female VP and the first pregnant teen in the second family all in one year. Democrats should be over joyed with such a thought.

If it were Chelsea then it would all be okay.

Thank you Stevenson!!!!!
BTW all that have never sinned please raise your hand and say "I" next when you realize you have, ask yourself was it your parents fault?
I had the greatest parents in the world. I was raised in church, taught right from wrong. Brought up in a family that loved me.
Yet somehow I ended up in a awful life style, because I CHOSE to do so.
This is a insult to parents that try so hard and then blame themselves thinking they did something wrong.
It is hateful and can hurt.
Those without ever having "sin" cast the first stone!

Unreal..............................

Bush was a alcoholic
Clinton smoked weed and had an affair in the white house.
JFK well I don't need to mention his affairs.
Ted Kennedy ummm enough said
Rep. BYRD was in the KKK

Please tell me again how great all politicians are supposed to be? But at least this woman has not done this and is holding her head high doing the right thing. She knew her child would be exposed and yet she is standing by her side. One abortion would have ended all of this but sh stands on her beliefs and principles and you find fault with that.

I know nobody here has never committed a sin (wait it isn't her but daughter) Of course nobody here ever did anything before marriage..... because you were born a saved person correct?

You know, I was going to respond to this with correct medical information, but I don't think it is worth my time.

Unfortunately there are many who share this ignorance, I've heard other's say this in one form or another.....it is disgusting to me that so many can be that uneducated.

Save your breathe Jinjer, folks like Who new wallow in their ignorance.

I think Sara's selection energized women period. If momma is happy.. then (finish the sentence). You should have seen my wife instantly connect with this woman as she first spoke and she isn't involved in political discussions. This instantly made her interested.

I also think it was a fantastic selection and one outside of the beltway. Bravo. I just hope her family is strong enough to handle this media bombardment of bombshells (whether true or fake) as they are going to hit her with everything they have.

Sara stands for everything they don't support. This is going to get even more VICIOUS. Plus we're going to have our own "supposedly conservative smart leaders".. try to be the smartest in the room and seek to do the dirty work for them if we are not careful.

Good food for thought.

With all due respect, I am pretty well-read and keep up with a lot of speakers, and I have never heard of Voddie Baucham. I am sure he is a fine man, but I am not certain I would classify him as an "Evangelical leader." His opinion is what it is: his opinion.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Who new wrote:My Mom said the same thing that Voddie Baucham said. What kind of mother is Sarah Palin if she hasn't raised her children well? If her 17 year old is sleeping around then she's missed it with her family, in my Mom's opinion.

It's a cheap shot to say she's not fit to lead because her daughter got pregnant out of wedlock. Children make their own choices, sometimes in spite of what their parents have taught them. It's not a simple as it once was to raise a child. There are so many voices competing for the K-12 crowd's attention that a parent is lucky to get a tenth of the time their kids spend with the other influences in their lives.
But, even if it were true that Sarah Palin is responsible for her daughter's pregnancy, it would still be might ungracious to say so.
Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?

Dewayne and Paully.. Ditto.

Who New reminds me of the story about the guy who did not talk much.
Someone asked him why one day.

Well, he said. I dont talk much because I would rather keep my mouth shut and let people think I am ignorant

Than Open it and remove all doubt.. WhoNew you should have just kept it to yourself..
