Auburn/MSU: Auburn's defense is tough, but may be worn out by the second half of the season if the offense doesn't step up its game. They'll play LSU next, and that should be a hard hitting game. I'd pick LSU by 2 touchdowns, though, at this point after watching AU play Saturday night and with Brad Lester's injury (assuming he won't return for LSU game). For MSU, their defense did a fine job, too, but AU gave them way too many chances to put the game away and State couldn't get it done. Their QB, Carroll, (sorry to say this) has to be one of the worst passers I've ever seen. His throwing motion is slow motion. He got killed.
Bama/W Ky: Well, come on. Patsy game. Everybody has one or two. No real comment except JPW can't find the open receiver and really can't aim at him very well. We play in Arkansas this weekend, and should win by 8 points or more (IMHO). I'd hope more, but this is the SEC and anybody can be beaten. And, Bama is not more than anybody yet. Should be a good game to watch and usually is. If our defense plays to its capability, we should win. If our QB can find his receivers (still a problem for him, it seems), we should win handily. I predict he won't (see above) based on history. Alabama 24, Arkansas 17 ---- IF we don't look ahead to Georgia. Otherwise, anybody's game.
How about Charlie Weis taking one for the team? Lou Holtz practically had a coronary at the tribute/pep rally on Friday night, and Weis gets his knee slaughtered on the sidelines. ND wins anyway over a (HA HA HA) really stinky Michigan team. (Go WVU.) Weis is ND's Mike Shula. Good guy, smart enough, and doggone it people like him ..... but he ain't a big time head coach. ND's undoing is in the offing.
USC is a juggernaut again.
I wish Ga. Tech had pulled out a win on Saturday.
