Phat Fulmer

Postby MrDanger » September 22nd, 2008, 7:24 am

I find it funny that's how KB refers to him when PHAT by definition means excellent.

He is definitely under fire, as well he should. But this is a thread about the person, not the coach (if you can separate the two).

My sister Angie (Momoftwo) had a conversation with a person that worked for him for 6 years. She told some interesting little tidbits about Fulmer, but the one I loved the most was how you can hear him calling out the names of his players in prayer throughout the day. That he feels he is fighting for the very soul of these players.

As a devout UT fan that definitely bleeds orange, I am ready for the team to win, be SEC champions, and contend for a National championship. I believe most of those will happen one day. But it is good to know that in one of the nations top party schools, someone is going to war for those kids. And in the big scheme of things, I really doubt Jesus cares how many championships Fulmer wins.

....and in this case, I will agree. He is EXCELLENT Fulmer. Thanks for naming him that KB.

They been calling him Phat for years on blogs.

However I will give you credit for his prayers.

As far as Jesus caring about championships I would say every year the Dawgs win one, HE CARES

PS: Congrats on your new appointment

I didn't know they had been calling him that. I don't read sports blogs. And I knew what it meant.....son, I grew up on the mean streets of Hendersonville.

Yeah, KB didn't name him that. We have alot of UT fans around here (I wish they would all move back to Tennessee), and most of them call him Phat Phil. In fact most of the times I've heard him called that, it was by Volunteer fans.
