new blue hair photo is up

My daugher went to spend the day at her Aunts house...

And came home with BLUE HAIR.

They took a sharpie and made her parts of her hair BLUE

So far we have washed, washed and washed and washed her hair, and yet she still has this blue hair...

I am very much NOT HAPPY!!

She just got done washing her hair 2 more time and guess what BLUE HAIR.




I just did a search -- Tomorrow we will try Dawn dish liqulid.
And if that dose not work Mr Clean magic eraser (it works on everything else why not hair)



and yes i do have a pic, if you really want to see it I will upload it or try to tomorrow.

Get used to the blue hair, at least until it grows out. Sharpies are permanent markers, which means they use indelible ink. There isn't much that will effect that ink when it's on a porous surface such as hair, short of paint remover. Even bleach will have little effect. I'm afraid that anything you put in her hair that could remove the ink is going to damage her hair and scalp. Sorry.

Oh penny! Don't worry about the blue hair. My niece (worshipn4ever) has had every color imaginable and she's still a wonderful christian girl. I know the blue hair bothers you but just try thanking God for your wonderful christian daughter every time you look at her hair. It's just a fad and will pass. The next time it may be green or red or purple! It's just hair. Don't sweat it. I've raised two boys and we had everything from various colors to very long hair and even shaved. I learned that the important thing was the condition of the heart. Your daughter's heart is great!

It's just HAIR!! Let her express herself. There will be times that you will have to say, "No way". This shouldn't be one of those times. Pick your battles.

I spoke about reaching our youth at a Women's Retreat about a year ago. One thing that I mentioned to them is that we fuss about blue, pink, and purple hair, but we put golden blonde, charcoal brown, auburn and such on our hair. We just don't do purple because we are too old to pull it off.

It's just hair. It's not permanent. Give her some room.

I agree... it's just hair, and it's just a teenager exploring possibilities. My wife and I decided when the kids were young that hair was temporary and we would lose no sleep over its color, length or shape.

I failed to say that Lindsey did not do this.. HER AUNT DID.

I told this Aunt to NEVER DO THIS AGAIN!! This aunt had NO clue it would not come out.

It will have to wear out, there no way to get it out is what I am seeing.

Her hair is dyed blond, it is to soon to re dye it, and we have to wait a while before it done again.

Lindsey dose not mind it to much now as she did when she came home, I guess it has grown on her. I told Lindsey if someone saids lets go Rob a store would you?? You must start standing up for you. You could have said NO. to which she said... OH MOM!!!

She thinks I am making to big of a deal out of this. Lindsey is very much a follower..

I am trying not to get mad about it anymore.

My all time favorite for removing "indelible" ink - Greased Lightning - it even removes India ink. I found out when using rapidograph pens that they sold an expensive little jar of solution for cleaning the pen parts from india ink. I tried greased lightning and accomplished the same results for a fraction of the cost.
I just used a sharpie and colored the ends of some of my hair - purple and red; then I sprayed the greased lightning on it and it came out.
However - I don't think you would want to use it on the scalp, it requires lots of rinsing, and you definitely don't want to get in your eyes!

Having said all that - I agree with the others that hair is really not that big of a deal. Like Shellie said, choose your battles (and maybe this one is with the aunt!)

We had to get going as soon as church let out, We had to meet someone at 3. and they were 1 1/2 hours from church so we had to get moving, go home and change then leave again.

My child is 14 months so I don't have any advice and I don't know much about washing clothes. My wife handles all of that. Maybe your daughter will learn from this having to wear it for a while.

The photos are on her camera, which she has so when she gets home today I will get her to down load them so I can share them..

So far school going GREAT!!! She has some very nice teachers, it a bit harder this year snice she wanted to take Honor classes. Over all going great.

I was in a pet store today that dyes the dog's there are selling...I saw a pink one, a yellow one and some other color. I guess it washes out once you buy the dog but I had never seen anything like that before.
