I wonder if Tuberville is out after three straight losses.

Pastor Rob, I am sure you are happy this morning

Tubby's not gone yet. After the season, who knows? If they beat Alabama, he'll save his job even if it is the only win they get from here on out. That's all that matters to Auburn, KB, is beating Alabama. They could go 1-11, beat Bama, and the coach would have job security. He might not get paid as much, but he'd have job security.

Tuberville's biggest enemy right now is Alabama. Although Bama has had a longer winning streak against Auburn ( 8 ), this is Auburn's longest against Bama (and, truly, the 2nd longest by either team in the series). This is of unspeakably monumental importance to Auburn. Their entire identity rests on this series, and in this year, their season requires, absolutely requires, they win the Bama game. If Tuberville wins, he gets a reprieve (honestly, he gets paid to work instead of being paid not to work). But, for now, he's very secure. Not well loved by Auburn folk, just very, very secure.

Funny. Same thing is being said about Fulmer. "If he can beat Alabama....."

Another thing interesting is over the last week I have heard Tuberville's name thrown in as part of the wish list for UT if Fulmer and Tuberville get fired.

Listen, I'll say this. ANYBODY in the country would do well with Tuberville. I can't stand the guy. But, he's a dadgum good coach. He outcoached WVU last night, but his defense quit on him. That was one ugly game last night. I'm glad of the outcome, mind you, but Auburn's defense just never showed up. The two interceptions they got were errant and ill-timed passes from a returning QB, not good D. So many long runs and gaps in the secondary. Just awful. And, WVU took advantage, so hat's off to them. Better team won. Still, that onside kick, trademark Tuberville move, but they failed to make it count. One thing that drove me nuts in the whole game was when WVU had the ball, how the QB would stop and watch the sidelines for the play to call after the huddle was already broken. That whole moving around the backfield and dancing around with the spread is just nerve-wracking to me. It'd be one thing if they just put guys in motion but every single time they lined up you'd see that glare to the sideline. Call the play, run the play. I just didn't like the game as a viewer.
