UNA Lions

[dolfan]

My undergrad alma mater, University of North Alabama, finished the season 10-1 and earned a first round bye in the NCAA D2 playoffs. This senior class is the first in school history to have four consecutive 10-win seasons. This is a program that won 3 consecutive D2 championships in 1992-1994, losing only 1 game in that stretch to D1AA then-powerhouse Youngstown State.

Mark Hudspeth, once OC at Navy, has been head coach for (I think) 5 years now. This team is fun to watch; I've seen them on cable TV twice this season and their QB, Alabama transfer AJ Milwee is fast and has a rocket arm (he's smallish for D1, though).

Congratulations to UNA, and go win that championship. (This year will mark the 23rd consecutive year that the NCAA D2 championship game has been played in Florence, Alabama. It is aired on ESPN2.)
