Peerless Rd new pastor?

When I moved to Cleveland in 1977, I started going to Peerless.....

After about 6 weeks, I was told that I would probably enjoy Keith St. better. Since I lived directly between them, I had no issue with going to Keith.

Stayed there 5 years........the person from Peerless who invited me to go to Keith St, was right.

I have since been invited to go to another place .....I declined.

When we were there in the mid seventy, we went to "South Gate", Bro B. Jackson was the pastor and later RL Black. Also attendted Keith St before then.

Don't forget Fairview, Greenhills or Birchwood. I think some of them have gone under or left the church at present time.

I understand mutiple churches in a county when traveling from one end to another takes all day or even a half a day. But in this day in time Bradley county should only have 1 or 2 churches at the most of the same denomination.

DaJudge, you are so right, bro, about the mad church-hoppers. I was a member of the Keith Street church for 22 years and I saw them come and go, and come and go, and come and go.

Also, I was married at the Wildwood church (1973) before there was a Peerless Road.

Get mad at Peerless? Go to Keith Street. Mad at Keith Street? Go to Durkee Rd. Mad at Durkee Rd? Go to Spring Place. Mad at Spring Place? Go to Union Grove. African-American? Go to Wildwood.

I tried most all of them and wasnt comfortable at any.

There was another one down in the south end of the county way out in the country that went TCOG. I can't remember the name.

It's not just CoGoP folk that church hop...I'm surrounded by Baptist churches and people bounch back and forth between three of them on a regular basis. It's sad but until they get a right relationship with God they will never be happy.

Yeah, they do the same in my area. Some people don't want to get rooted or invested in a church (you might ask them to do some work or give some money) so they take every little slight (real or perceived) and use it as an excuse to hop on to the next church.

Reminds me of a story.

A man is rescued from a deserted island. Upon arrival, his rescuers ask him who lives there with him and he tells them that he is the only one on the island.

They point to three huts and ask what they are. He tells them, "Oh, I built those. The one on the left is my church and the one in the middle is my house."

The rescuers ask, "So what about the one on the right?" The man answers, "Oh, that's the church I used to go to."

I think South (or East) Gate was the one I was thinking of.

There was a South Gate that my family went to 78 to79???. We went to Keith St before that, but did not leave mad, we just felt more comfort there at South Gate. Taught Sunday School there and became good friends with the pastor and his family. Changes doesn't all ways mean mad. It gave us a better chance to work in the chruch.
