Approx. 2.20 which I was so happy to only pay $70.00 to fill up my pick up :D NC is still a little higher then VA because their state gas tax is higher. It was taking me $150.00 to fill up and it was killing me.

$3.49 in Juneau. Wish there were an economy of scale up here. But I go two months on a tank of gas, so it doesn't bother me that much.

I haven't seen you state it here, so if you have forgive me asking .... but why are you in Alaska now? Do you just love Sarah Palin that much? Did you think you'd find a good recipe for Eskimo Pie? Or, did you take that advice from the Auburn U. grad that you could sleep for 6 months in the winter since it was always night??

You were working for the American Theological Society weren't you, in Chicago??

If I'm being nosy, sorry.

I was with the American Theological Library Association. I have to admit that I miss the library world. But it doesn't pay as much. I miss downtown Chicago, too. Very bad for the heart, though. Too dog-gone many good looking women walking around on the streets. (Juneau is much better health-wise.)

I came to Juneau on the premise that if I would be willing to take a remote job I would be competitive for a good position for a career change (my first career) in IT as a middle-aged, slowing brain. I was right. Sarah is my boss. She doesn't read Jude 2, to my knowledge. I'm not ready for a promotion, anyway.

You're kind to ask. Thanks. I hope you and your family are doing well.

Yeserday, at Junction City, Ky (just south of Danville) I filled up for
1.84. It only took $17.01 to finish filling my tank. What a difference
a few weeks and wall street can make.

I was thinking, Is there plenty of oil now? What happened to "we are almost out of oil and that is why the price is so high."

Or could Big Oil, in league with OPEC, have munipulated the market?

I just hope big oil doesn't want their turn at the federal bail out siphoning hose.

Just thoughts of an inquiring mind.
