soulsearcher,

I heard that White Castles won't open a new store until they can be totally paid for. They don't owe on any of their stores even as it opens. Don't know it that is a factor or not. Did they give you a reason for not coming here?

Oh, just a bit of "hmmmmm". In Glasgow, Ky, I paid 64 cents each for a regular slider. In Louisville, Ky, I paid 59 cents. What's up with that?

Also, the Glasgow store served pulled pork sandwiches served on the infamous small square buns.
There never was a horse that couldn't be rode and there never was a cowboy that couldn't be throwed.

On a White Castle side note....here in Louisville they've bulldozed four WCs and only rebuilt two.

Two of them...though the made good business...only rented their land (or somesuch) and the neighborhoods became too pricey for them.

Church's chicken! I love their fried okra :D . We have some scattered here in Ohio, but none near us.

The only Church's Chicken in this area for a while was in Ardmore, TN. They opened one a few years ago in Decatur, AL and there was a 2 1/2 hour wait and a huge traffic jam.

When in south Georgia and Florida, we always find boiled peanuts on the side of the road somewhere.

When in South Carolina, have to find some Muscadine or Scuppernong juice or cider.

In Middle Tennessee, must have some Whit's BBQ.

Orange Julius' wherever you can find them - only they don't fix them with raw eggs anymore so they aren't quite as good...

Buffalo's is a hit around Atlanta and of course, the Varsity. Gotta have a big orange.

We have Whitt's BBQ down here. It's pretty good. It's not like the BBQ I grew up on though.

I grew up on White Castles, love them! None here. :( My dad would bring them home by the sack especially on nights when he would work 2nd shift. It was a bonding moment!

The other things I miss:

Chicago hot dogs...nothing like them and deep dish pizza, Chicago style, of course! :D

I forgot to say I missed the food in Pennsylvania... especially the cheesesteaks...

but also the chili dogs with a chili mustard sauce (no meat or beans) and especially the kiffles (cookies).
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.
