Utah and Bama. Speechless. Just sick.

I saw a poll that said 89% of America picked Alabama.

Florida didn't beat them like that.

With all respect to Utah, I doubt they'd have beaten Florida or Oklahoma. They're quick. They've got some talent. And, Saban, for the first time since being here, was outcoached. Scheme wise, Alabama was not prepared for this game. I don't care what the causes were, they weren't ready to play this team, this system. And, the way we played Florida, who runs that offense much better, was physical. Utah ran circles around us. We missed tackles, blocks, you name it. It was just a complete undoing, and I don't know how you explain it. But, I do know that Utah is good. I also know they're not national champion good. Florida would chew them up and spit them out. Oklahoma would beat them, but not as badly as Florida would.

The difference between Alabama and Florida or Oklahoma right now in terms of player quality is a commitment to kill. What I mean is that Alabama was not in that game Friday ---- ever. And, for whatever reasons, none of them being good ones, they lacked the commitment to dominate. Florida's guys wake up every morning and they don't even have to consciously think "I'm going to dominate". They are almost hard-wired for it. Oklahoma is, offensively anyway, like that. We're not that way ---- yet. I hope we become that way. If not, then all of the big recruits and nice regular season records will end in bowl games that disappoint.

Nobody remembers who was ranked #1 during the regular season, for good reason. We Bama fans will remember it for what it wasn't. The players on that team are the ones who will decide if it ever mattered by committing themselves to being a true dominating force on every play, every game, no distractions allowed.
