Help with a song

I've had a song on my mind the past couple of days. I first heard it while I was in National City, CA in the early 90's. I found the lyrics online, but I don't know who wrote it or who recorded it. Not even sure of the title, but I think it is "What is Best for You." Can anyone help?

From the time I was a little child I'd always heard of You,
And I'd seen with my own eyes the wondrous things that You could do,
But in spite of all I'd seen and heard still this question came to me,
Why must I suffer so if God knows what is best for me?

As my nights and days turned into months, and months turned into years,

there was a reason for the test and God knew what was best for me.

So let the faint of heart take courage,
let the weak one say I'm strong,
God will exchange your gloom for gladness
and your sadness for a song,
Do not cast away your confidence, God will always see you through,
He knows just what to do and He knows what is best for you.

I think it was one of the Hawkin Singers but I'm not 100%. I'll look around and see if I can figure it out.
