Steel Curtain

Postby Full Quiver » January 11th, 2009, 4:07 pm

The Steelers wore out the Chargers today and looked as they did in the pre season and the beginning of the year. They were hitting on all cylinders and I say bring on the Ravens. I'd love to head to the SuperBowl with 3 wins over Baltimore in one season. 8)

I hope we get a Steelers - Eagles Super Bowl, personally. I am pro-Ravens because of Ozzie Newsome and Laron McClain, but I just can't pull against the Steelers since the Dolphins are out of it.

Should be a fun game next week. I think Pittsburgh will win, but it will be close.

Kinda pulling for Baltimore a little though.

Being a Steeler fan my whole life, raised 90 miles from Pittsburgh, I'm a little bit concerned at trying to have to beat the Ravens 3 times in one year. Having said, that I'm glad we have them at Heinz Field which should be an advantage. I'm hoping for a Cardinals/Steelers Super Bowl. Cardinals have never been, plus Coach Whisenhunt was my choice for coach of the Steelers after Cowher resigned.

Having said that, I think the Steelers win by a Touchdown.

Based on the play of the remaining four in their last games, I pick the Steelers to win the Superbowl. And you don't know how much it pains me to say that. I would prefer either the Cardinals or Eagles.

Eagles scare me more than any team left as far as opponents for the Steelers. I don't like the Ravens but I know them well enough. The Eagles beat Pitt once this season and has a way of hammering teams. A Philly-Pittsburgh Superbowl would be interesting though.

I'm hoping for AZ and Pitt with a 5th trophy for the black and gold.

FQ - Are you a true Steeler fan? If so, you would have to realize that this would be the Steeler's 6th Lombardi Trophy.

4 under Chuck Noll and 1 with Bill Cowher. 75-76, 79-80, 2006.

Oh my I can't believe I said 5. That was a typo. I am a fan believe me. 5-6 in SuperBowls with the lone loss to the Cowgirls mostly due to Neil O'Donnel's 2 interceptions to Larry Brown. Don't get me wrong I love O'Donell but is sure looked like he was throwing right to Brown both times.

You mean 5-1 in Superbowls right. The Steelers have been to six superbowls winning 5 of them.

Yep, Neil O'Dummy as we always called him..

I'll be rooting for a Ravens Vs NFC matchup myself. The Squealers should win this out, though.
