I would dare say that this poor fellow has a few issues that he is dealing with.
Pastor's families are usually a liability instead of an asset for a pastor...The discipline needed usually turns out rebellious children instead of compliant children.
We, as church members, expect our pastors and their families to exibhit sinless, perfect lifestyles instead of human lifestyles...and the pressure on children is enormous...too much usually.
But then again...
I personally know a pastor that shortly after excommunicating a popular couple from his church for living together for a week before they were married was himself involved in his second affair with his secretary...(a recent divorcee herself and half his age)
He thought that if he was allowed to adress the congregation he could get his job back...the elders will not allow him to speak to the congregation. They did some investigation and found many emails and text messages to most of the college age women that were forward in their content.
I do believe he has a snowball's chance of seeing next Christmas in someplace hot than of making a Jimmy Swaggert comeback.

Not mine. My family will always be an asset to me and to my ministry. Even when they mess up, they are an asset. They just show everyone watching that they are human, they make mistakes, they are real, and they need Jesus. Just like the people watching them.
They are no different from your family and I'm sure that you would never consider your family a liability.

I'm sure TD Jake's son is not the first preacher's kid to fall/mess up, and most likely will not be the last. I agree with Shellie, their human. Except by the Grace of God, there go I. Let's pray for each other and our children more than ever before.

Why? As a pastor I don't expect the children of my church members to live sinless, perfect lifestyles. Why would anyone hold my children to a different standard than they would their own?

We have an adversary out there who don't care who he messes with.
It just makes the news "more" when its a ministers son or daughter.
Its as if their waiting to find dirt on the Evangelicals.
You see how fast this story made news.
Its a shame even those we labor among sometimes find some kind of enjoyament in spreading it among ourselves. (voicing did you know/hear)
Instead of praying for them.
