Postby jessea » February 17th, 2009, 5:30 pm

My long time friend and associate pastor, Gary Wood has completed his writing of the above mentioned book. It is available on Amazon and at the following web site: http://www.sixthdayrapture.com

RamboPreacher,

One of the most important rules in communication, whether it be through print media or otherwise is to "know your audience".

You are obviously very intellectual. I am sorry this prevented your participation in that simple quiz.

understood, but it was obvious from my score that the apparent paradigm that the book was written has some prerequisite information necessary. that I don't have, or no longer have, as the case may be. :) (though if I put my "Futurist" hat on, I aced the quiz. :) )
Thanks, Brent "RamboPreacher" Hoefling

Why don't you give us all a quick synopsis of his book. If I like itk, I might go out to the website. What or who is "Shabua"?
Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?

I know Gary Wood having worked closely with him for several months in 2004/05. I had the opportunity to sit under his seminar teaching of the book and it is very enjoyable. I found the information to be very much in line with my own studies on eschatology and even was able to find closure concerning some questions and misunderstandings that I had wrestled for years.

I recommend this book and intend to purchase several copies.

No seriously. Having exchanged beliefs with you and knowing the questions you do not ask and do not answer, to find someone that reinforces your stance....well, it's a lot easier than answering asked questions, isn't it.

I wonder if you ever read anything that challenges your belief.

I should add as well that the fact Jessee posted the link should have been warning as well.

It occurs to me that he is the one that posted an "End times forecast" based partially upon scripture from Daniel pertaining to the Messiah BUT APPLIED IN HIS CONSTRUCT TO THE ANTICHRIST!!!!!

Mike, Shabua is a seven day, or seven year time frame. It is usually used in reference to any of the various feast that the Hebrews celebrated, i.e. Passover is a Shabua because it is a seven day celebration.

Mike said: Thanx, brah. I guess Jessea can't be bothered.

Is this a sarcastic remark? Is this standard treatment for anyone who doesn't visit this board every day?

TW is right. Shabua is time that is "sevened" or is measured in seven parts. Days, weeks, or years.

In his book, Gary Wood uses the "Shabua Principle", a term that he coined, instead of using the word code.

Overview of the book.

Postby jessea » February 19th, 2009, 3:01 pm

The Rapture--everybody has heard about it, and everybody has an opinion concerning it. We seem to have an overabundance of “experts” on the subject. Unfortunately, teachings concerning this topic seem to change with the seasons. Somebody is always coming out with a book that “sheds new light” on the subject.
There does seem to be one constant message concerning how the Rapture will take place. The vast majority of books and movies on the subject portray a Rapture that happens instantly-- in the twinkling of an eye. According to the experts, those left behind will see millions of people vanish before their eyes--leaving clothes, shoes, and glasses neatly folded in their place. Cars will wreck, planes will crash, the world will be left in complete bedlam--and no one will know what has happened to those that mysteriously disappeared.
What Gary Wood presents in his book is not about predicting the day in which the church will be gathered, or more accurately called the “catching away” of the Church, he is presenting a more scripturally based understanding concerning the "rapture" than anything that I have seen or heard. It is a Rapture that you have never heard described before. However, if you care to give it a read, you will see, I believe, that the Bible presents us with information that is completely opposite the concept that has been promoted for the last 150 years.

Absolutely Gerald,

I have actually changed my thinking on various beliefs after reading authors who shed more accurate light on any particular subject. In the early 90's, I was forced into reality check after reading Ron Brisson's book on jewelry. The book presented the scriptures in a way that I could not resist, even though I had strong raising to the contrary. This is just one example.

To the contrary, after 20 years, I have never witnessed a challenge strong enough to sway my beliefs concerning the end-times. I have read several conflicting views. I am still open to be corrected by the scriptures on any subject.

To refrain from hi-jacking this thread further, we might start a new one if necessary.

Blessings,
pa
