one love,

This is much deeper than you realize. There is a long, long history here. I hear your words and understand where you are coming from but you don't have all the facts.

The Word tells us to save some with compassion, to save others by jerking them from the fire, and yet to turn others over to Satan for a season.

Some of us have done all three with Tim. There is a long history spanning over years with a few of us here.

There are a whole lot of people that believe spanking of children is wrong because it is "harsh", "violent", "inhumane", and etc. However, the Bible tells us that physical discipline is not only sometimes necessary, but Biblical.

With that being said, I agree with your heart behind your post. This is just not one of those "general" situations here.

Mr. Elston saw me respond to a THREAD... a SUBJECT, in which he had contributed. I (foolishly in retrospect) used a term, a word, that Mr. Elston had also used in his responses. He took the inclusion of that word as a direct response to him rather than as my contribution to the threaded topic in general. It can be difficult to participate in a busy thread without any oblique, indirect response that can be interpreted as directed at an individual. My insertion into the thread was challenged by Mr. Elston -- as if the thread was not open to me -- and he apparently inferred from my unfortunate inclusion of a word he had used, that I was addressing him. It was not my intention to do so, and when I stated that, I was called a liar.

Nobody likes being called a liar. To the best of my remembrance, I have never called Mr. Elston a liar, or any other term casting aspersions upon his character or integrity.

Yes, this is an ongoing difference between the two of us, as there have been numerous examples of Mr. Elston stating unequivocally that I meant this or that, intended this or that, as if he were clairvoyant and able to determine my intent and motive better than I could, myself.

I had an employer once afflicted with the same delusion of omniscience -- I would say something, and he would tell me what I meant by that...
We are now good friends, and he realizes that what he was doing then was projection; he thought that way, so he naturally assumed I also thought that way. Wrong then, wrong now.

Titus 1:15

you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Shellie I am thankful you understood my post. I do not have any idea what has happened between PG and Tim, I have admitted that. I do not need to know so no old wounds are brought up again. I understand your point as well. i believe in biblical discipline, as a matter of fact I have been blasted about that as well

I will just say this, which is the intent of my heart:

I pray God heals this situation.

I hear ya, again I do not know the details of your past with Tim, I am not arguing your intent of your post. I just wrote how I felt.

It was not my intention to do so, and when I stated that, I was called a liar.
Nobody likes being called a liar.

I agree I felt the same when I was insulted and called one over and over with no justification. I do understand and feel insults are not necessary at all.

To the best of my remembrance, I have never called Mr. Elston a liar, or any other term casting aspersions upon his character or integrity.

I hear ya, this is the part I know nothing of and if I have made things worse I apologize to you and Tim. Sometimes people can gang up on someone because they have a view that goes against the majority of those on the board. When this occurs many times hateful statements are made and that bothers NOBODY because they are of like minds, so the insult somehow becomes justified. So I was not sure what was going on here it is obviously something I know nothing about.
Tim can rub me the wrong way sometimes, make statements I dont like, but then again so do most of the posters here and that is what I like.

So I will stay out of this as it is none of my business and I truly do not know what the history is. I hope I did not upset anyone

Kevin, I have a lot of respect for you, and it's only gone higher in this thread. Thank you for continuing to be my and Gary's friend without partiality. You get props for that in my book.
