You'd never hear it from Phil. The guy is the best I've ever seen at not spreading negative gossip. I lived in Chicago for five years and we would occasionally get together. Negative talk about other people does not run through his blood. He was treated like crap here, but he refused to say anything but good about the people he knew from here.

Response: You'd never hear it others have. I have. The person that he almost got fired has.

It's not surprising that you would have a different take.

Your statement is slanted, but since the good people of this board are liars and hyenas I'm sure your perversion is what you'll stick to.

Tim, again I loved chatting and talking to Phil but we have to be honest here. On the phone chats we had.. Phil DID slight a few here and he WAS negative. But.. I chalk that up to being normal as he is just a normal man of like passions. It's his views that I thought were a bit extreme.

I did my best to calm him down and redirect his focus in a healthy perspective. We all need to practice not jumping in front of the truck and screaming martyr and accusing every one else of pushing us. At some point.. it's called personal responsibility of actions.

Phil Hoover, a former badgered Jude 2 member, used to work for the distance learning department of Lee. I can't remember his role--maybe recruiting officer, or something like that. Maybe he would have an interesting perspective. Phil can be contacted through his blog site: Something to Consider. Phil is an affable guy; I'm sure he would be happy to chat with you about it.

Ya know, I may not have a dog in this fight but I am seriously hurt Tim! Dag gone it I am....arrggg!!!! I am struggling on whether to go down this road or mind my own buisness. But seriously Tim seriously I am really upset! I stuck out my hand out to you on more than one occasion, and while I may be a nobody from ho dunk nowhere and while I may not have money, influence, or the brains to even register on your radar I thought that maybe, just maybe I could show that not everyone is a mean snide selfrighteous bigot of a christian. (not at all saying that anyone else here is)
But why are you here Tim? What is your purpose? Are you here to set straight the ignorant baffoons that you once were likeminded to? Is this your way of pulling yourself so far away from the ideals and convictions that you no doubt once held? By your own addmission on your blog you have a 40 year christian history. Is this your way of redeeming your foolish and ill place devotion to a God you now "obviously" don't believe is rational to believe in?
I don't know anymore. I can't see past your goading and poking and scaping at peoples ideals that you obviously now detest.

I know the scriptures say to be slow to anger, to be full of love, kindness, tenderness. But right now my emotions are raw. I know you haven't meant to hurt me Tim, I know that. BUT I AM HURT! I am one of those whom you detest! And I am not going to put myself out there to be cut by your vendetta toward your own demons anymore! Sorry Tim, I am sorry. I really do have love for you even though our actual time conversing has been somewhat small. For some reason there is a place in my heart for you Tim. For some reason I feel moved to reach out my hand even though it may be covered in scar's! But I need a break. I am removing myself from this stuggle for your soul. I am sure you see my plight as an ill placed misguided path that is riddled with delusion. So be it.

Brian, I am here, in part, because I like you. I wrote my last email just before going out the door to catch the bus, and after the computer was turned off I thought, I should have appended something to the effect that most are not the hyenas I was talking about. Brian, you are definitely not a hyena. You don't have that spirit at all. In fact, several of the hyenas aren't very active these days, and in my opinion, that makes things here a lot more pleasant.

You gave me some very good advice in a PM. Let me give you and others some good advice in return: Don't struggle for my soul. Just be my friend. You'll fail at the first, but you, Brian, are very good at the second, and I highly value your friendship and upright and kind spirit. But, trust me, no one is going to win me to anything. I am here as a human being with other human beings, some of whom I enjoy, like you, some of whom I don't enjoy.

Don't struggle.. because you're being lead here Tim. You are blessed and highly favored and sought after by the designer of everything. It's wild that you can't see that.

My job is just to tell you it's coming.. a birth... and Not a RE-birth. You've never been where you are going to go.

You're funny. I smiled.

Badgered? That's rich.

Obviously you don't know, don't remember, or simply don't care about the whole story.

I would LOVE to know that story.. I know Phil from another board..

Phil is a good friend of mine and has been for decades. We talk on the phone regularly, and he recommends books to me all the time. During a recent personnel issue with which I struggled, he was a great source of support, information and assistance. Like others here, he has a somewhat confrontational style of posting at times and was a lightning rod. It happens. Phil, however has many friends on Jude2 and is welcome here if he chooses to start posting again.

If anything caused Phil problems here, it was his inability to keep his Jude2 debates on Jude2. They seemed to spill over into other boards and even into phone calls to individuals and their employers. That, IMHO, is a bad plan, and I have told him so to his face.

I can assure you (and could give you his cell number to confirm it) that there's no bad blood between me and Phil Hoover.

Oh, I know. I just find it amusing that my recent threads on Rod Parsley and Lee University became slightly hi-jacked...

So basically, the real problem is that you are a troublemaker! :D
