New Star Trek movie

ok, so this was seriously the coolest movie of all time and i pray they make more after this one!!! I was so excited after watching it that I thought I was going to have a seizure!!

Most definately, my favorite Star Trek movie so far. Very well done and well written. I loved how they kept pulling in the different sayings from the characters on the original Star Trek.

I am having a hard time picking between scotty and bones, but I think bones in my favorite character!

Yeah I agree. Karl Urban did a great job - he was also in Lord of the Rings. Completely different characters!

I can't believe you all went to a Moving Picture Show! Sinners!!! I went to make sure no one I knew was at one of these things. I happened to look up at the screen and I'll have to admit it was amazing. LOVED IT! Great casting and great idea to do a prequel. Surely there will be many more. After I got home I prayed and fasted and took 3 baths to get that sinful popcorn smell off my clothes and I brushed my teeth repeatedly to get it off my breath (some may have found its way into my mouth). "O wretched man that I am I feel the urge to watch this movie again and again."

yeah, I googled all the characters and realized that is where I had seen him before. I just thought he played his character so well! I really liked chekov too! especially when he was doing that announcement!

I am going to watch it for the 3rd time tonight!!

It was exciting. I loved the part of Bones too. His eyebrow movements and the way he composed himself was Bones to a T.

They have to make another, because the Planet Vulcan has to exist and Spock's mom still has to be alive. She appeared in the original series and The Next Generation.

Kirk said something about going back in time to fix everything when he was talking to the old Spock.

no, this movie created a whole new alternate universe becasue of nero going back in time, so the possibilities are endless.

Right - I hope they don't go back in time. I like the idea of going in a new direction. We don't want retreads of old storylines, like I've already heard people wanting Khan. I say forget the past.

amen!!! there is so much they can do from this point on! Star Trek needed this and I am really excited about how they started this whole new reality and still kept the original star trek theme! It's great!

Reminds me of the four great religious truths:

1. Muslims do not recognize Jews as God's chosen people.

2. Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah.

3. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian world.

4. Baptists do not recognize each other at Hooters.

But really, I have always loved everything Trek. I enjoyed all of the movies, while acknowledging that the even numbered movies always seemed to be better than the odd numbered ones. (Favorite is probably ST-IV:The Voyage Home with the humpbacks.) I also liked the TV series', especially ST:Voyager and even the last one with Scott Bakula.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this one. Want to catch a matinee though (missed it today), so it'll probably wait until Wednesday. (Why not watch it for $5 apiece?)

Star Trek was great and this is coming from a guy that was never a Trekkie.
I really enjoyed it and will go see future films. It was very informative and the new fan can plug in easily.

BUT, that was a different timeline, they could just stay with this new reality, and forge ahead going where no star trek has gone before!

This was a GREAT movie, and I feel like all the actors really did capture the old characters VERY well.
