Don't Register Your Guns

Postby dolfan » July 1st, 2009, 6:18 am

Today, the so-called connections to the drug cartels from Mexico that are running drugs to America are enough to make your ownership of a gun suspicious. Houston is teeming with ATF guys, it seems, sniffing around for any whiff of a connection with Mexico and drugs. And, the scent of that connection? Owning guns. Apparently, being directly involved in running drugs to America is not suspicious, since Honduran President Zelaya's own government says he did just that. No, no ---- ousting Zelaya is "illegal," says our resident expert on Honduran law, Barack Hussein Obama. Not Zelaya's drug running. Not his insistence on remaining president over and above the requirements of the Honduran constitution. Hm, I guess legality depends on who your friends are. What else is new?

BHO is now on my official list of people who are thugs.

And, OAS, which we're a member of, has told Honduras' government that it acted unconstitutionally. Where's the cry for national sovereignty now? A nation is sovereign when it does what Obama wants (Iran). It is not (Honduras, West Bank settlements) when it does not do what Obama wants.

I would say Obama is in over his head just as McCain tried to warn us but even a rookie gets one right every now and then. Obama knows exactly what he is doing and my only hope is that in 2 years we have enough of Republic left to oust this left leaning Congress, Republicans included, and in 2012 a real leader has emerged to take control and rescind all this nonsense.

I told my wife late last year... about GUN registration could only mean two things. Pay extremely high taxes on keeping it.. or ultimately confiscated for everyone's protection.

Why not just enforce the ejection of illegal aliens and focus on protecting our borders?

Beam me up Scotty.

Don't register your guns.....

Postby Dr. Ron » July 2nd, 2009, 10:01 am

I have a gun....and ammo...

I do not have a "carry permit" other than the 2nd ammendment.

I will not register my gun, nor will I surrender it.

I am an American.

To borrow from an old bumper sticker but is felt deep in my heart.

They can have my guns....

When they pry my cold dead fingers from around them.

Many States do require the registering of firearms and all that serves to do is make a criminal of a good law-abiding citizen.

I must admit that the ownership of firearms causes me some struggle as a Christian. I know the arguments of both sides and the arguments are not my cause for unrest.

Anyone that knows me or has even met me for any length of time knows that I have an extreme fear of snakes. While living in the Mississippi Delta I had the privileged of working for a fairly large farmer who's main crop was rice. I was introduced to some of the LARGEST cotton-mouths imaginable. Very aggressive and plenty of them. So, I carried a firearm. holstered and capable of being carried in your back pocket.

One day while mowing along one of the many bayous and one known for a large population of snakes I of course had my firearm in my pocket. The vibration of the tractor caused the pistol to come out of my pocket and fell to the ground where I proceeded to run over it with the bush-hog. Needless to say the pistol was destroyed. Other than being upset about loosing a very nice weapon, my main concern was what am I going to do about protection from the snakes. It was a real fear for me.

On the way home I felt the spirit speaking to me. It questioned my faith. I felt the Lord was asking me if my faith was in the safety of the firearm or my trust was in Him to protect me from all harm. At that point I had to admit that because of the days experience of being almost crippled with fear with out having the pistol, my faith was obviously in the firearm.

Now just so you know I do NOT believe that God took the pistol away from me and cause this to happen but He did use the circumstance to teach me to lean more upon Him than the safety a firearm can provide. After that I came to learn to trust the Lord for my safety. I had other weapons that I could have started to carry but that day I decided to stop carrying and leave my safety to the Lord.

Also to clarify... I don NOT believe there is anything wrong with having, owning, carrying, and using firearms. I do not believe that it is a statement of someones faith because they do or do not carry one. I am though very careful and ask others to be equally careful because our protection does NOT come from guns our protections comes from our Heavenly Father. So be assured that while my faith is in Him for protection I also know that He put weapons in mans hands all through the Old Testament and provided them as a means of His protective power.

Not sure why I just felt like sharing that little bit of my self. Hope someone finds it helpful.

God bless....
Blessings; DJ

In Illinois we have to have a FOID card(Firearm Owners Identification) in order to legally own a firearm. If my memory serves me, that's what got Tank Johnson in trouble along with not feeding his pit bulls  . Neighbors complained and when the police came to his house he had weapons and no FOID card. You have to have one to purchase a gun. Also when you transport a firearm it has to be in a case and unloaded.(no gun racks in pickups) The guns are not registered the owner is. As far as I know, it has done nothing to curb gun violence. Gangbangers are not going to get a card because they are not going to buy them at a gun shop. So when they shoot someone or get caught with a gun there is the added charge of no FOID card. By then that is the least of their worries.

When first got saved felt I struggled with this concept as well. I thought how could I be a cop and shoot someone? Well after more studying and praying I learned that protecting your family is our duty. (again this was when I first got saved, maybe the first two months but I had already read most of the bible in the first month)
I learned that God also used a gun/slingshot to defeat Goliath, and guided the stone to the right place.

Many years later and I now have a wife and kids and of course very bad Back problems. I have a Rottweiler as well but if someone comes in this house to cause harm to my family I will unload. I would hope to be able to talk first before shooting as I would not want to send anyone to hell but If I heard my door kicked in and someone runs in this house I will be shooting before I see anything.....

One love, talk WHILE you shoot.

Suggestions:

"Forget how to use a doorbell? Well, this will help you remember."

"You should've broken into someone else's house."

"If you can run with hot lead inside you, now's the time. Oops -- guess not, huh?"
