I was getting concerned during the first half when Jevan Snead threw two interceptions! But I think he was just nervous from all the hype about him cuz he pulled out the big guns in the fourth quarter!

I think Ole Miss did fine. They played an average non-BCS team for their opener, and Snead handled it well enough. Now, if he has a first half like that in the meat of the SEC schedule, he'll have some problems. But, it's tough to fault anyone on day 1 of the season for sub-par performances, especially if they win anyway. He got around to looking like everyone expects him to look. It was a good performance by the Rebels.

Most teams, even good ones, play up (or down) to the level of their competition. It's often a mental challenge to play a team like Memphis with the same intensity that you would a team like Alabama.

I believe the Rebels will be fine if they can stay healthy. Read the following:

The schedule calls for an open date this week for Ole Miss.

The eighth-ranked Rebels, fresh off a 45-14 win at Memphis on Sunday afternoon, may have found an opponent for the week.

The flu, possibly the swine flu, is making its way through the Ole Miss football team, with as many as 12-14 Rebels showing symptoms of having contracted the virus.

On Monday, Snead was one of several Rebels with flu-like symptoms.
"It's one of the things we're scared of," Nutt said, noting that quarterback Jevan Snead, linebacker Joel Kight, strong safety Johnny Brown and wide receiver Jacarious Lucas They're being checked. We're checking it right now. But it's fever, which is not a good sign, and throwing up. It's not good."

We need to be in prayer for these and athletes from all the schools.

You're right about that, and don't get me wrong. Ole Miss is good. They're going to be very, very good as the season goes on. They may be best in the West by the time it's over. I don't doubt their potential for a minute. I'd hate to have my second week as a bye, though. Our bye-week is before LSU. UT and Auburn both schedule their bye-weeks before Alabama every year. That comes later in the year when you usually need it most. The flu bug is hitting a lot of teams, too. I'd hate to play or practice with the flu, but I know a lot of them will do it. Tough guys, ain't they?

great game yesterday! I just wish I could've watched it...

oh well, 52-6 is a great win even if they were playing a nobody team.

and now they may move to number 4!
