I edited my post...I forgot to state the two ordinances..Baptism and Communion. It is difficult for me to imagine the early church having communion once a year. Even though it is only mentioned in Corinthians..the purpose is stated clearly.

A few weeks ago we had a baptism service. The pastor asked me to minster the word that morning on baptism. There were eight scheduled to be baptized. After the message we had 30 who came forward for Baptism.

Many said they had never heard the inportance of Baptism. Several had been baptized as infants in the catholic church. or as a child and felt they had no clear understanding of it and its significence.

I wonder if that also holds true for the communion. I have seen miracles during communion, healings ..so much
You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting
and preserving yourself.

i don't know. the communion service we had this year was one more than we had last couple years, if I recall correctly. I miss our mostly regularly monthly communion services.
