Auburn slaughtered Mississippi State. LSU should've lost to them were it not for the pathetic effort on that last goal line "stall". LSU didn't stop State on that drive as much as they simply wilted. For all of his offensive genius, Dan Mullens managed to wrap that game up and hand it to LSU on a platter. Georgia racked up 45 (wasn't it?) on Arkansas. Washington rang LSU's bell but good, stat-wise. So, yeah, I think Georgia beats LSU. LSU is overrated. They're playing in Athens, not Baton Rouge. This is a below-average LSU team, I think. They barely beat Washington, and I know Washington beat USC and they're much improved -- so that's the quality, signature win of the season to date for LSU. They beat Vandy, La.-Lafayette and Mississippi State. LSU has played allowed fewer touchdowns (6) than Georgia (14), but Georgia has played 4 quality football teams (Okla. St., S. Carolina, Arkansas and Arizona State). That UGA is 3-1 through that stretch is --- and I know Georgia fans want 4-0 --- but 3-1 with that schedule is evidence of a better team than LSU's own schedule shows even though they're undefeated.

Now, LSU may kill Georgia, I dunno. But, I just think Georgia is equal to this task and I think they're better than LSU esp. in Athens.

I think Ole Miss can bounce back, yes. Vandy is not bad for Vandy, but they're not who they were. They're in Vanderbilt, but it is a small stadium and not particularly hostile. They're very civilized folk at Vandy, mainly because they're all running around curing rare diseases and what not. I'd say that Ole Miss hasn't played anyone other than S. Carolina, too; but, I'm still remembering how they dismembered Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl and the fact that most of that team is now still this team and they're due for a serious uncorking of the old fashioned kick-booty kind. I wouldn't want to be Vandy this week. The only thing that concerns me for the Rebels this week is if they overlook Vandy with Alabama coming to Oxford next weekend. That could be a problem, but I don't think it will be. They lick their wounds and fight, I think. They've still got a very real shot at the SEC West, but they've got to beat Vandy and Bama to keep that alive for now. Because they can't lose, I think they won't lose this weekend. I don't have that opinion about the following weekend at this point.

Enough people for ESPN to form a whole network just so a few million rednecks could watch it --- in between dips of Skoal and kissing our cousins. Yee-haw.

Ole Miss must beat Vandy this week. A sore Rebel team faces a hobbled Commodore team this week in Music City, USA. If Vandy wins, and it's not outside the realm of football craziness, look for a major meltdown in Oxford with demonstrators waving "Fire the Nutt" banners all throughout the Grove. :)

Eager, Dolfan and the rest of the SEC lovers on this board, have yet to realize they play football on Saturdays in other parts of this country. You'd think I guy in Alabama would know that after last years Sugar Bowl when a team, from a NON-BCS league beat his SEC team.

Any way, here's my picks for this week.

Bama wins big in Lexington.

Ole Miss bounces back against Vandy

Georgia beats LSU who I agree with you is overrated.

The ACC beats the SEC in GT over Miss St.

Auburn is not as good as their record. If WVU doesn't give them 24 points we beat them. UT played the Gators tough in the swamp, so in Knoxville it will be UT beating the Tigers

Arkansas will beat A&M

Now for some other football

Tomorrow night WVU beats Colorado

Penn St. bounces back against Ill.

Michigan State beats Michigan (I HOPE)

Ok beats Miami

USC beats Cal.

I will post my Top Ten on Monday

Why am I getting beat up here? I live in the south. Everything here is southern football. I watch Pac-10 ball when it's on ---- but not late on Saturday night usually, which is when most of the games are on here. I do have to get to bed. I've given props several times here to Oregon and Washington. An Alabama alum and former player is coaching Oregon St., for crying out loud. I picked W. Va. to beat Auburn and honestly thought they would. I think Cincinnati has a very, very good team and I've watched them on TV 2 times already (not whole games, but more than half of one and almost half of another) and I've mentioned here that they're good.

Now, I know I've already had to make nice over my SEC bias --- and heck, I admitted I'm biased and that I'm trying not to be so obvious about it. But, this was just a choice of SEC games because --- guess what --- I live in Alabama! If I'm not spending enough time to suit anyone watching non-SEC ball, and that makes me too shortsighted on football, so be it. But, I'm going to watch first and foremost those games in my conference because that's the football world I live in.

Man, alive.

pa, "Fire Nutt?" He didn't throw all those errant passes last week against S. Carolina. If they want to fire him already, they're as bad as Bama fans.

Dolfan, I'm just having a little fun at your expense. I live in KY, not a football school by any stretch of the imagination, but I live day in and day out with how great the football is in the SEC, and I have to admit it is good football. But I'm a Big East guy (because of WV), and the football there is not as good as the SEC, I know that. But it's like eating steak, after a while you would like something else.

I tell all of the SEC folks wait till basketball season, because the Big East will rule then.

Anyway, just having a little fun with you that's all. Don't take it personally.

Alright, I'm the girl this time. Sorry for the hypersensitivity. Who knew? I just learned something about myself ---- I'm a football sissy. (Slaps self.) Just trying not to be the wet mop on everyone else's conference.

OK --- on with the real guy stuff.......
