H1N1 (Swine Flu)

Postby Marcy » October 8th, 2009, 9:11 am

I got a call from my daughter who is away at college. She is needing to be picked up, she has the swine flu and is not allowed in public on her campus. Anita has been sick for about two and a half weeks now, she thought she was getting better then she ended up feeling worse than the first time around.
Husband is gonna head up the mountain to pick her up. I am concerned a little, he has a weakened immune system as he is battling prostate cancer now for three years.
I am battling a staph infection, going on five weeks now. Next doctor to see is the heart doctor, there is concern that I have endocarditis.
My son has a weak immune system with asthma and is fighting some sort of illness right now.
My family really needs to be covered in your prayers.
God Bless,
Marcy

home safe

Postby Marcy » October 9th, 2009, 1:07 am

Anita is home safe and sleeping. Although there isn't much I can do to make this illness disappear, there is much I can do to bring her comfort while she is sick. I love my girl, so glad she is close enough that we were able to get her home for the weekend.
I will keep you updated on her progress, your prayers are appreciated, thank you all.

Update

Postby Marcy » October 15th, 2009, 3:42 pm

It has been an interesting week with Anita home. She has had little to no energy, run a fever, coughed, slept and slept some more. Yesterday she even had a fainting spell and hit her head. After a visit to the family doc today and a prescription for nausea and vomiting, she wants to return to Northern Arizona University in the morning. Anita is majoring in Math and she does not want to get so far behind that she feels she is drowning. She will return to campus tomorrow and attempt to take an exam. Thank you for your prayers, they are much appreciated.

Marcy, I am glad she is feeling well enough to want to return to school but in your opening letter you said she was "not allowed". Has that changed? Has she been given a clean bill of health in so short a time? Just curious, thanks.

Yes Brian, she has been given a clean bill of health. The requirement is to be fever free for over 24 hours. Anita had been sick with the flu for a week before going to the doctor, she had the flu for two weeks in all. Her strength is not back to 100%, I am sure time will help in this area.

Your all have had enough. We're praying for health and strength to be returned to each one of you. Take care.
