Good call mom, not your imagination. World Series is about 8 days later this year. Last year, the Phillies clinched the title on Oct 27th. This year, the series doesnt get underway until the 28th of Oct.

Unfortunately, as much as it pains me to think about it, the yankees pitching is going to be very hard to beat. Last nights performance against the Angels was very good.

What does fall mean to me? baseball playoffs.

Sorry Paully, but I can't stand the thought of baseball being played in Nov. in the cold. Baseball season needs to end the middle of Oct at the latest.

But of course, then again with baseball stiking a few years ago, if they never played another game it wouldn't bother me.

no worries here, I think they should be done in Oct also.

I also think that the Bowl games need to end on New Years Day like they used to and and the Super Bowl should be played in January. Oh, if I ever got in charge of sports.............

It's raining good back in New York tonight. So far, Phillies are doing good. Go guys.

Game 1 in NY against a hostile crowd and Cliff Lee was amazing last night both pitching a complete game and he made some good defense plays. he is now 3-0 in the post season with a 0.54 era. I was hoping the Phillies would make a good showing against C.C. I'd say this was a good showing.

Unfortunately, the yankees proved why they won their 27th. yankee pitching was just too much for the phillies.

Cant wait for Feb when it all starts over again!

Paully, is that what your really believe? Here's the truth. The Yankees proved that money can buy a championship. They went out and spent the money and got the 3 best free agents last year on the market. Here's what I honestly believe, until baseball does like Football and Basketball and put a salary cap in place, then the rich will stay rich and teams like Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, will simply serve as farm systems for teams like LA, Chicago, and NY.

If they never played another pro baseball game it wouldn't hurt my feelings. If they get a salary cap I may come back to baseball. Until then, I refuse to watch it, and I did not watch the WS.

That is why I love pulling for teams like the Marlins & Phillies and other teams who have won the World Series without being #1 in payroll.

I am no Yankee supporter, but yes I agree, they played within the confines of the game financially and won yet another championship. I dont like it, but they did it and their pitching totally shut down the left handed bats of the phillies with the exception of Utley. I thought it was a great Series and I cant wait until next season.
