My Top Ten

After watching another exciting weekend of College Football here's my Top Ten for this week.

1. Florida - Simply because they are the defending National Champs. However I don't believe they are the best team in the SEC.

2. Alabama - Next week is the Iron Bowl, and then the SEC Championship Game, and a date with Florida. I think they will beat Florida in the SEC championship game.

3. Texas - They looked really good against KU. I think regardless of who they play in the NC game it will be a dandy.

4. Cincinnati - I really like this team. Especially with Pike at QB. I think they are better than TCU.

5. TCU - I really like this team and I would love to see them play Cincy in a Bowl Game. Really good non-BCS team.

6. Georgia Tech - They will be playing in the ACC Championship game against Clemson. I really like this team.

7. Pittsburgh - I think their resume is better than Boise. Even though they lost early to NC State. Let's see what they do this weekend against WVU and in two weeks against Cincy.

8. Boise St. - I'm still not sold that this team is all that good. However, some others keep getting knocked off, so I'm really left with no choice.

9. Ohio St. - Really the only time I root for OSU is when they play the team up north. Hopefully, with the loss today they will fire Rich Rod.

10. Oregon - They had their hands full tonight with Zona, but pulled it out in the 2nd OT. Now they have to beat the Beavers to go to the Rose Bowl.

That would be my list, too -- ditto.

Pat Dye said yesterday that last week he was talking with some other coaches about TCU. The coaches were going on about how TCU could beat Florida, Texas or Alabama because they're so good (they may be right). But, Dye said, "I said, 'Now wait a minute. They might be good enough to beat Texas or Florida. But they ain't good enough to beat Alabama'." I can't tell you how ingratiating that is to hear from him in particular.
