The federal government would pay schools to stop using nicknames, mascots or logos it considers derogatory, if a New Jersey congressman's bill becomes law.

The proposal from U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, D-6th, focuses on expunging references to American Indians and envisions a grant program that would give schools money to buy new uniforms and repaint walls.

Isn't being a Mascot a good thing? A honor? Why do we have to continue to invent negative issues so we can throw tons of money at it.
