Elwood changed my life, by the things he said to me and he did for me.

I am happy for his gain but so sad for our loss

There is a nice article in The Cleveland Daily Banner written by sister Marlow. Google Elwood Matthews and it will come up.

He will be missed. The sad part is that it seems that these people are not being replaced. The church has lost its legendary preachers.........

Well, I happen to know of several GREAT ministers/preachers who IMHO WILL BE "legendary" by the time they reach the point in thier life that Bro. Matthews, etc. reached.

I know that I am on the outside and don't interact with many of these men/women personally.

However, from my observations, I have reached this conclusion and do believe it to be accurate.

I won't name names, because most of them would be embarrassed to be compared with the "legendary preachers" that you reference.
