Tragic death at COGOP in GA

"Thursday night, Marquel and about a dozen family members attended a service at the Church of God of Prophecy near Decatur.

Marquel was seated next to his mother, Nathalee, while those in the church waited for a 12:30 a.m. concert to begin. Then, those in the sanctuary heard a loud pop. It was almost like the sound of a balloon.

Instantly, Marquel was on the floor, and he was bleeding."

So sad...will be praying for the family and the church
You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting
and preserving yourself.

I don't know how many times I have read about similar incidents. It is always tragic when someone dies like this. In this case more so because of the age of the victim and the locale where it happened.

I believe in the right to own a gun, but there are some people who have no business owning a gun. They seem to lack the brain power to realize that when they fire that gun "harmlessly" into the air, that the bullet has to return to earth somewhere. Guns are not firecrackers or noise makers, they are lethal weapons. Gun ownership includes responsibilities.

I doubt that they will ever find who fired that shot, but I pray that they do. That person should be held accountable for their action.

PG I read this late last night abut 2:30 A.M. and could not help but to cry

This is just so sad!!!! To think that bullet went up in the air and came through the church and hit that boy is just a freak incident!!!
Here they are going to church for the new year and such a terrible thing happens... I just cant believe it. I am in Pigeon Forge and when I woke up my in laws were talking about this because it was on the news and it just tore my nerves up. I cant imagine what they are going through but I am praying for this family....

This is such a horrific tragedy, yet little Marquel is with Jesus today. He will never be late for church again. You can view more on the story at the following link:
