What's going on?

Postby jessicacook » January 5th, 2010, 4:44 am

Ok, there are times when I click on a link or something and the page will start to come up then it goes totally white and will say done at the bottom, but the page is white! Then I click refresh and the same thing happens. It starts to come up then goes white and says done. It does this to a lot of links. I finally give up and forget about it. It's driving me CRAZY!!!! haha What's wrong with it?

Thanks.

If you have IE8 then on the browser tabs for Page. Tabs down the menu and select Compatiblilty View and click. It show refresh the page in the compatible mode. If that works then go into Compatiblity setting and add it to the list or select display all in compatible mode.

Hope that helps.

We don't use Internet Explorer anymore. We have been using Firefox for more than a year and really like it. I wonder if it is the internet sites because it doesn't happen to me when I'm using her computer even though I don't use it as much as she does. I guess it could be the internet service though it has not happened to me at all on my computer or the desktop. Weird!

Try restarting your DSL modem when it happens. You might need a new one from pushing all those pixels.

If you have no problems connecting to the internet and the connection isn't being losted, Then I would believe it maybe your Adobe Flash player plugin for Firefox not loading certain pages.

Here's how to check your version and upgrade if needed.

A few years back my mom had a similar issue on her iMac. Some loaded, some didn't.. but the page would say complete. It was her DSL modem.
