This winter reminds me of those when I was a kid in WV. The only difference is that we use to get more snow than we are getting here in Kentucky. However, we have yet to have a day about the freezing temp. this year, and doesn't look like it will get about 32 till the middle of next week.
If I were to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for business. I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out right, what is said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right will make no difference." -Abraham Lincoln

It was 28 here in Melbourne this morning. When I went out to warm up my car at 8 AM I thought I had frost on the windshield, not so, it was a thick layer of ice all over my car. I don't even know what an ice scraper looks like. The TV weatherman said on the 6 PM news tonight that Orlando and north may get "little snow flurries" late Friday night or early Saturday morning. I hate cold and my new hip is cold, my dog is cold and did I tell you I hate cold.

It's freezing cold here in Orlando (26 last night and even colder tonight) - and I'm LOVIN' it! :D

Sorry, rjc.

Yep, car windshields were iced over this morning.

I, too, have heard predictions of snow flurries Friday night and Saturday morning. Jacksonville and north has a forecast of substantial flurries.

Extended forecast for next week - more of the same !

 I would start crying but the tears would freeze on my face. Some of the ladies at work told me I needed to "layer" my clothes. Here in Florida that means a t-shirt over your bathing suit. Today I took my Christmas present from my grandkids and went to the store and bought 7 sweaters, the warmest ones I could find, and some thick socks. I looked for an ice scraper but couldn't find one, I have a lot of early morning classes next week. How long to August?

rjc,

You should dress LOOSE and in layers. Don't wear clothes that are tight. They should hang loosely. I was stationed in Alaska and without a doubt, this will do the trick. Three layers is plenty but make sure they are not tight.

Don't worry, your tears won't freeze to your face. We used to run in the morning and the moisture from our breath would freeze to our eyelashes but never on our faces! :D

This too shall pass.

I guess the extreme cold temperatures that are breaking records around the planet are finally causing people to rethink Global Warming?

The mini ice age starts here
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... -here.html

The bitter winter afflicting much of the Northern Hemisphere is only the start of a global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last for 20 or 30 years, say some of the world’s most eminent climate scientist

Thought of the Day..
If Al Gore gets money on his Carbon Trading Scheme from Businesses when the planet warms.. does that mean his Carbon Trading Scheme has to now play Businesses when it gets cold?

Or

What if we have done TO MUCH to save the planet and it's now going in the reverse? We would need to offer tax incentives for AUTO Makers to make larger SUV's so we could swing the earth back from sudden death by Global FREEZING?

I just got off the phone with a client in Nashville and he stated they were covered in SNOW.... so keep your fingers crossed or get that sermon ready!

well, our guest speaker (Chuckie Chandler) made it and did well, as usual so I didnt have to preach. I did take Rob's class and that was enough for me.

I'm beginning to thaw out. On Saturday, I didn't see any snow or ice flurries even though some areas of Melbourne did. I only got cold, cold light rain all day but on Sunday morning my fountain on the back porch was frozen. My car has had ice on it Sunday, Monday and today. It did start warming up a little this afternoon and by Saturday we are supposed to be in the middle 70's. My grass, and I afraid a lot of my plants, are dead. I just have this feeling that we are going to get more of this kind of weather this year, I don't think winter is done with Florida yet.

Well this has been the COLDEST weather I can ever remember and I cant stand it. I usually get tired of the summer heat but I will never complain again. Lord bring spring, PLEASE.
It was snowing for a little while in Greensboro yesterday and as I was pulling into Asheville there was a little snow. I will say it was beautiful on the mountains!!!
