State Of The Union

Postby free » January 27th, 2010, 5:25 pm

Did you watch it? If so, what did you think?

Personally I thought it was a little long and for me Obama just doesn't inspire me and I don't buy his "tough guy" attitude.

My 2 cents.

Watched part of it, pretty much agree with you free, got too long so we switched to the DVR'd American Idol auditions.

Tried

Postby Pastor Gary » January 27th, 2010, 9:13 pm

I tried. I really tried.

Watching Obama with his arrogant stance (chin thrust skyward) lecturing the men and women he sat among a year ago gagged me, and that was before I had to see Joke Biden and Nancy P. Lousy sitting smugly behind him.

I'm not at all sure what he said, because all I heard was THIS.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

The excerpt I did hear, lets me know that he still isn't listening to the American People. For example, "a jobs bill." What we need and want is LESS government. I caught on YouTube, Justice Alito's "you lied" moment. Here is the link http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A ... 343fc43799

It's time everyone start calling ALL politicians out on the true facts.

My favorite part of the address was when Alabama hit three 3 point shots in a row inside of one minute during the early 2nd half. Poor old LSU couldn't do anything.

Isn't that what all of you were watching, too???? :?:

No, I didn't, wouldn't, couldn't watch him drone on and on about how the government is going to improve life in America. The best thing he could do is announce a nine-month furlough until the mid-terms, and then a 10 hour work week for everyone in a DC government job after that. Unless that happens, Obama has nothing for me.
Human government bears the same relation to hell as the church bears to heaven. (David Lipscomb, On Civil Government, 72).

one thing made alot of sense. tax breaks to busn. owners that hire new people and give employees raises and higher taxes for those that send jobs to other countries. made alot of sense to me. the rest of it was just stupid. people should earn the tax breaks by doing what is right.

I thought it was a fine address...

I think I have watched every State of the Union address since Jimmy Carter became the President of the United States.

Even when I don't agree with the President, his beliefs, and his administration, I owe it to myself to watch the State of the Union every year, if at all possible.

This is the ONLY speech REQUIRED by the Constitution, and really, it isn't even required to be a 'speech.'

President Obama is a good speaker, and did a good job. I listened to Mr "Nuke You Lar" for eight years. I can listen to my "brotha from the south side" for a few years.

An Obama Lecture: Nail on the Head from PG.

What you have to understand is he is the teacher now and the rest of this nation is his classroom. The people now have to pass his test. Follow his rules even if they are do as I say and not as I do (earmarks anyone?). If you understand this dynamic.. his actions, tone, make perfect sense.

When the reverse is the truth. He works for us, we'll give him the grade and it's he that is currently terribly failing.

Seriously.. whom did you believe? Obama or Alito? During his political rant against the supreme court.. Justice Alito mouths shamefully 'not true'.

The President’s swipe at the Supreme Court was a breach of decorum, and represents the worst of Washington politics

I don't watch infomercials.
Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?
