A Word of Thanks...

Postby Phil Hoover » February 8th, 2010, 8:57 am

for letting me sing in your special choir back in 1976 for our Christmas musical. We did "Alleluia! A Praise Gathering for Believers" and I sang the solo for "Get All Excited!"

I was telling someone about that the other day, and just about cried. That was such a great production, and the Lord so blest in that place.

Precious, precious memories to my soul!
There is a ROCK between me and a hard place. His name is JESUS.

It was a really good production from a bunch of untrained singers, and you did a great job with the song.

One of my precious memories of that era was my dad -- not really a singer -- agreeing to sing "The Longer I Serve Him the Sweeter it Grows" as a solo.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

I think of one very precious saint, "ROY LANGLEY"....

He sang with such conviction and anointing that evening...and it made an impression on me that lasts now, some 33 years later...

"The Longer I Serve Him" is a timeless song that is as true today as it was the day it was written. Maybe it holds more meaning to me the older I get but everytime I hear it I cry.

I've been a Christian now for many, many years...and I know the words of this great Gaither song are true.
