2011 Ford Mustang Gets New 305 HP V6, 30 MPG
http://jalopnik.com/5408309/2011-ford-m ... -v6-30-mpg

The new 2011 Ford Mustang is putting the Camaro on notice with two new transmissions and a new all-aluminum 3.7-liter Duratec V6 making 305 HP and returning 30 MPG. Are you ready for the Pony Car Wars?

Meet the 3.7 liter Duratec V6, it makes 305 HP and 30 MPG. See, even in the V6 segment the pony car wars are still going. The 3.7 is the first rear-wheel-drive application for this engine family, in simple terms it's a punched-out 3.5 liter, except this one's got some considerable upgrades.

It's actually smaller and lighter than the outgoing engine while making more power. If you don't care for changing the oil, the new V6 goes 10,000 miles between changes, so that's pretty interesting.

Nice. My old V8 Cobra Convertible produces 305 hp and now these new ones do it on the V6 cheap.

Okay. I've coveted and lusted when I saw that pic and the news on it. There. It's out. I admit it.

That's funny going from an 4.0 v6 to 3.7 and making more hp. 210hp to 305hp That an 15.833 hp increase per cylinder. Wow. With improvement in mpg. Now it has to be said, all of this is due to chevy camero having 304hp on their v6.

Although I would like to see the real world mpg " projected to deliver up to 30 mpg highway – a combination unbeaten by any other vehicle in the industry."
