Is that a Blue Flame 6 under the Hood? And are you going to keep it or replace it with a V8?

It's all original and yes l6 frame. I just got it to fire up and it runs if you poor gas down the carb, so some work on the gas supply.

It an local owned truck from our small town motor sales "Woodruff Motorsales" As far as I can tell it's and two owner which I'm now the third.

And yes I will be keeping it original.

Great looking project. Rust free? Those with minimal rust are the best for sure as it comes down to wrenching and detailing.

Although I'm not an original guy... I do enjoying seeing one done right. I'm more of a resto-custom individual where the vehicle appears mostly stock but with some tasteful upgrades in terms of function and display.

Keep us posted with tons of photos. I do love photos.

Btw.. I've been stripping/polishing out my vintage porsche wheels. This is a process not for the faint of heart as it takes hours and hours to really tweak. Something I don't have much of these days. So we started with front pass wheel

Starting Stripping the layers off with Easy Off Oven Cleaner

Then polishing with 400, 800, 1000, 2000 Wet and Dry Sandpaper and mothers polish. Only a few spokes here on the top and left are complete.

The kind of job that makes you wish you never started it.

My 64 project rust free  No! I will be removing the bed and using some Por-15 on the frame rails while cutting out some rust and repairing or maybe just replacement panels/ fenders.
Then move on to the front and more that likely remove front fenders and hood to see how bad they are, more than likely replacements fenders again.

I will try to post more pics as I go. Hey those wheels looked good at the finish stage. I maybe saying the same about what I have started.

My wife already says I have two many trucks.

Yea I got it from the website. Tip: Once you open the can it will weld your can shut if you shut back up. Get a good mason jar and pour into it and clean the rims well before closing back or it will bond that also

Thanks will do. I also heard to pour an small amount into an cup or something small because it goes along way. Is that how you use it?

Also what size and did you get the metal clean or metal ready?
I heard that the metal ready is very good for adhesion

I would buy the size that fits in your mason jar and apply it from that. Yes it does go a lonnng way amazingly and thankfully. I have also noticed that over time it seems to lose it's strength a little after opened more than ten times. The rubbery hard enamel shield it forms appears a little less stronger so shut the top as soon as you are done applying it.

I ordered mine when it was just "Por-15" and not all these different blends. I would ask for the original. I have done brake parts, polished interior parts, to coating the inside of my gas tank with my original and it works fantastic. A moist day will make it dry faster as it absorbs moisture from the air to harden.

Gas Tank internal coated after boiling out with acid:

Undercoating the bottom of Tank:

Most versatile paint ever. The more you apply the shiner mine gets.
