I think there are some folks on the board who live in Nashville or the surrounding area... How is everyone doing with the flooding in that part of the country?

We are high and dry. But the devastation is INSANE!!!!!!! We are going to be in a BIG mess for a LONG time.

Some of you may have visited Opry Mills Mall when you were here for the assembly.. it is completely under water. You can only see the rooftop.

Opryland Hotel has 15 foot of NASTY water inside. They will be shut down for months. They only have 50 million in flood insurance.

Big River Grill where we had a J2 dinner.. flooded.

It's bad, really bad.

It's sad...I kept seeing places on the news that I visited during the assembly and was in shock to see them under water.

Water even got into the Bridgestone Arena, formerly the Sommet Center where the Assembly was held.

Every major supplier of industry and construction is under water. UPS second largest hub in town is under several feet of water. We are contracted with them to change out every electrical device in the plant due to the flooding.

You see this stuff on TV and see it from that perspective and then it happens in your town and you see it first hand. It is absolutely unbelievable. I've seen flooding around here before but this is insane as Wendy mentioned.

The Titans stadium, LP Field, flooded. The locker rooms and media rooms under the field are completely full of water. The new symphony hall and Country Music Hall of fame are flooded. All of first avenue and much of second avenue is flooded.

The entire Opryland complex is flooded. Petroleum farms are underwater and only one in town is functional thus gas prices are about to hit the roof here. Sections of interstates were closed for over 24 hours with folks stranded in place. Over 150 road closures, rods destroyed, asphalt missing, sink holes, you name it.

Most people were apparently rescued by "good ole boys" in bass boats and little fishing boats. People can say what they want about Tea Party people and "rednecks" but they were rescuing people from their attics because the police, fire, and EMS crews didn't have enough vehicles above water to get to them. That's not a knock against the emergency personnel but a praise to the common folks that stepped up.

Hundreds of cars, trucks, city buses, trains, power company bucket trucks, cement trucks, etc. are under water. Car lots are completely destroyed and total losses (check Vehix and don't buy a used car from Nashville in the coming weeks). Train tracks are gone!

There has been an eery fog over large portions of the city since Saturday night. I met a man this morning that was speechless. He lost everything but his car and the clothes on his back. He went to bed, was awakened by flood sirens, stepped out of his bed into water, and hit the door.

On a lighter note I suppose if Bush controlled the hurricanes that destroyed the Gulf Coast then Obama must have the power to cause this much rainfall over one area in 2 days and this must be Stimulus II!
I have piped unto you, and ye have not danced!
