Tech Help!!!! Beckrl anyone?

Postby one love » May 4th, 2010, 12:38 am

My mother in laws computer's mouse pad has somehow been disabled. She has a Toshiba laptop. I was able to help her tab her way through the control panel and try a few things but nothing worked not even system restore..
Any help would greatly be appreciated.....

Okay... I know I am a Mac user, but how on earth does a mouse PAD become disabled???

Isn't a mouse pad just a square on which a computer mouse operates?

prolly the trackpad?

Just use a plug in mouse to gain instant control etc... but as far as repairing failed hardware.. you might need a new physical part unless this is a common software/pc virus related issue.

Loveone, Check just above the mouse pad (touch pad)for an disable button.
If the model don't have this button then Toshiba notebook Touch Pad can be disabled/enabled on two different ways. The first one is using FN+F9 key combination or using DISABLE/ENABLE option in mouse properties.

The trackpad can also be disabled in BIOS on many laptops, you might need to check there as well, but the recommendation to use an external mouse will make it easier as you work your way through these things.
