International Presbytery Meeting

Postby Pastor Gary » July 23rd, 2010, 4:39 am

I am sitting in the International Presbytery Meeting of the COGOP - Session 1 of more than I want to think about. :lol:

Pretty impressive group of leaders.

Highlights so far:
• More relaxed atmosphere! (We are encouraged toward casual dress, losing the suits and ties! I am finally in style.)
• Great opening devotional in which we were urged to drop the titles and get relational — call one another by first name! (Again... I am apparently ahead of my time. :lol: )
• Membership in COGOP worldwide now tops 1.5 million worldwide... great increase since we were at about 300,000 15 years ago.
• Emphasis upon leadership development, and not just at Pastoral level... kids, youth.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

all sounds like good directions!
"Why would God allow Hitler his chapter in history? Why would God send a whale to swallow Jonah or turn a woman into a pillar of salt? Surely there were other ways. But I'll leave the particular methods of God to God."
-Spoken by David Abraham, Showdown by Ted Dekker
