Integrity

Postby Phil Hoover » August 15th, 2010, 5:00 pm

INTEGRITY is far more important than loyalty...

What do you think?

Absolutely.......To often people are willing to overlook the lack of or absence of Integrity in a person or organization because they have been blinded by what we think is loyality.

If I choose loyality over intregrity then I have become a vessel with no content. No matter how much I value it, clean it, protect it, defend it at the end it is still empty and offers nothing.
You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting
and preserving yourself.

Loyalty can come and go, loyalties can conflict with one another, and loyalties can be blind to the absolutes of right and wrong.

Integrity is built upon the absolutes, does not waiver with emotions or the stability of relationships, and is based in yourself so it cannot conflict with itself externally centered loyalties can.

I don't think anyone here would argue that loyalty was more important than integrity.

Is there something you are trying to say?

there are plenty of good church folks who don't know the difference between loyalty and integrity.

My, my, my Phil. With your recent pm to me, I am starting to think you may be a little passive aggressive.

integrity without loyalty makes for a lonely life. As far as church goes they both are very important.

To me, if you don't have integrity, then you loyalty doesn't matter and most likely want last.

Loyalty can be co-dependence with a smile. Integrity is the wholeness of a thing, its unbreached quality. What you're loyal to and why can be an integer. It can also be something that's inconsistent. I'm not sure what about loyalty pits against integrity without an example, Phil.

Sure. But Phils post was in reference only to which was greater.

ok, but i dont think you can seperate the two. i dont think you can have much integrity without being loyal to something or someone . there is not much integrity in someone if they cant be loyal.

definitions are important at this point.

What is "loyalty" to you?

What is "integrity" to you?

Yet they remain quite separate...

Integrity is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations and outcomes.

Loyalty, is faithfulness or a devotion to a person, country, group, or cause.

Example on how they quickly separate:
An individual can have Loyalty to a group that has Integrity. Yet you can possess no Integrity if you have blind Loyalty alone.
