GOP leadership

Postby Full Quiver » September 16th, 2010, 2:40 am

I hope and am excited about the GOP taking back Congress, hopefully both houses. I am not a registered Republican but a very conservative independent. The Tea Party is the catalyst that is causing this tidal wave of conservatism and not the GOP itself. The Republican leadership has had plenty of opportunity to tell America what they will do for us and they have either failed to do so or just refused to do so.

These new "young guns" as they are being called are the ones that we should get behind as they are fighting for the people; they are not the establishment. I personally like John Boehner BUT he has had opportunity to lead and hasn't done as good a job as he could have. By simply saying NO to everything Obama is not enough especially since the dems have 60 votes anyway in the Senate and a majority in the house where Boehner is.

I think when nominations for Speaker of the House are made then people like Michelle Bachman, Marsha Blackburn, Mike Pence, etc should be considered as they stood up and joined the Tea Party caucus and have personally been behind this wave of new republicans. In the Senate McConnell should automatically get the nod either but Jim Demint should receive attention for majority leader.

The establishment should not be given the reigns of this new conservative Congress that we are hoping to have come January.

There's no way they'd let Bachman, the second most controversial woman in the party, lead the house.

So you basically support everything that is currently going on in the White House, Senate and Congress? You believe it's all headed in the right direction.. just need more time? Maybe more Laws, more Taxes, (insert perfect social redistribution program here)

No? Then might be what you claim others are..

It's clear from growing mainstream Moderates, Independents, to [ insert group that cares about bankruptcy and exploding debt ] ... it's not about being against.. it's about restoration of founding principles ( Limited Govt & Lower Taxes, individual responsibility ) and electing individuals that reflect that.

My vote will be to eject ALL Republican / Democrats that oppose that view.

More House Democrats stressing independence from Pelosi, Obama
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 85_pf.html

Along the southern coast of North Carolina, Rep. Mike McIntyre (D, trying to win an eighth term, boasts to his voters that "I don't work for Nancy Pelosi." Voters in western Pennsylvania see a similar appeal from supporters of Rep. Jason Altmire. "I like that Jason Altmire is not afraid to stand up to the president and Nancy Pelosi," constituents say in a new ad.

Here Democrats are even abandoning... are they against? Or finding themselves for different core principles? Or worse.. have absolutely none and just want to keep their jobs?

we have been over all of this before. i will say in the general election many tea party people will not be elected. just a prediction. what are they for? and dont say the Constitution. and dont say they are for less spending. that means they are against everything that the gov. spends money for. i will tell you what the tea party is against that scares me. federal educational dept. why? because states have a awful record handling it on their on. they want to do away with the social security dept. that will throw people out in the streets by the masses. so tell me more that they or against. or should i say "for".

Part of that is because there really is no "Tea Party". Every time you turn around it has a different head or different leader. Here's who "leads" the "tea party": any person who makes a point that those who (1) lust for big government (sorry, I just can't get away from that word ;) ) and (2) happen to work for a media outlet happen to call a "leader".

I mean I've heard them call Dick Armey a tea party leader. And, he loves it. But, truth is, he's 180 degrees opposed to small, constrained government and in favor of big ol' government programs. He even suggested that the Republicans co-opt the "tea party" people who are elected --- meaning absorb them, use them, intoxicate them with power and government-confiscated money and make them part of the ruling class.

Now they call Christine O'Donnell a "tea party" leader. She hasn't won anything yet. A nomination?? Gimme a break. Give her an oath of office, then you can say she's leading a party. Until then, she's like every other talking head out there just babble-babble-babble on about non-specifics.

I'll tell you how to identify a party --- find a group of people visibly and unmistakably united around one core set of principles and who are so thoroughly sold out on those principles that absolutely nothing on the planet can drive them to forsake those principles. There is no such animal alive in politics anywhere today. Not even the jihadists, but they may be the closest to it as exist in politics. But, even the jihadists share with the politicians and the politically invested this feature: they must attain power by hook or crook. They are nothing if they do not remove power from someone else. Everything they are, all they do, their very identity, all of it is wrapped up in the forced or coerced acquisition of power at the expense of someone else's power.

Contrast this with the kingdom of our God. To them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on His name. Does that diminish the power of the Almighty King of all eternity one little bit?? Does it not abound to His glory to empower His people? Where is the benefit for the people of God AS the people of God in trying to bring to reality the visions of the Framers and Founders in our day?? Where is our call to that service? What part of it will be redeemed and brought out of the ashes on the Day of Wrath??

I pray for a prophet of God to stand up and tell the believers in this world to stop. Just to stop. To stop beating our own selves senseless with power games and for a seat at the table of Satan. These are powers and principalities, and Christians in this country are gushing with fervor over a momentary shift in temperament, sensing that something is going to break their way. NEVER!! This order of things is against Christ, opposed to Him, anathema to His way. If judgment is due to be rendered for neglecting the day of salvation, perhaps we are fooling ourselves if we think that we are not to be the objects of that. Have mercy.
Human government bears the same relation to hell as the church bears to heaven. (David Lipscomb, On Civil Government, 72).

Now you are just trying to make OT upset instead of helping with this matter.

Btw.. Dawgs..
Remember that beautiful commercial where the guy was riding his lawnmower in front of this beautiful house.. surrounded by new autos, newest greatest stuff? Looked Great Right? Then he stated that he needed extreme help as he wasn't even able to pay his INTEREST on his DEBT?

He is the USA ( except the USA has already put it's kids in extreme debt also.) The TEA Party ground swell movement are the responsible adults coming on the scene to fix the mess he has caused.

The Tea Party is blue blooded Americans and there is no leader. The Tea Party is govt. for and by the people.

Armey is not the leader and neither is O'Donnell. Beck is not the leader and neither is Demint.

The media says Rush is the leader of the GOP which is hogwash. We shouldn't be surprised that the proxy media is trying to put a face or assign a leader to the Tea Party either in order to speak of the movement in a negative light.

They all should take heed to bill Clinton's advice.
