Pastor and wife preach married sex with 24-hour 'bed-in'

They Urge.. Don't just jump into the bed for SEX ... but experience real healing with everything God has provided thru covenant married sex. God birthed SEX IN HEAVEN for us. It's the SUPERGLUE for a Healthy Christian Marriage.

Note: I don't know these people other than the statement they provided above and brief interview... but as long as they are in a mature audience.. they have my approval. I thought it would make a fun post to get the results.

This was my favorite. They stated they love their kids and have 4... BUT the pastor defined K.I.D.S. - Keeping Intimacy Distance Successfully... LOL.

Did you watch the youtube?

In previous traditional America... I would have agreed with you. We don't live in that place anymore.. no matter how much we isolate ourselves.

In today's bombarding of sexual messages in EVERYTHING. It's a different day. It's AWKWARD... but these topics are being discussed elsewhere.. so why not in the proper setting/context/fulfillment as God intended.

Our families and maturing youth need to see positive re-enforcements to sex in the covenant marriage. A vision for what God has set forth. In a day of over 50% divorce rates... the Church needs to be the place where these matters can be discussed in a mature audience setting.

The enemy will prey on our timidness and devour our young all the while.
He's counting on it. I've forwarded this to some large Church pastors and a few have responded with positive comments.

Again, I don't know this couple from what I've heard on the above clips. So I don't condone him or his ministry. BUT... The message just resonates in my spirit for today.

Macuser, It's still sick.

Waht ever happen to teaching and preaching salvation, scantification, an living it. We as a nation has become too open to sex and its' message. In 42 years marriage to the same woman, I want say it has been a bed of roses, but it has not been a bed of thorns either. The hardest times where when we went back on the Lord and the easyess times are when we are given over to God.

I still believe that you can't run thru the mud and not get mud on you. When we become too relaxed with the world then we soon become like the world.

One of my favorit verses;

John 17:15-17 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

I know that not everyone will agree with me but that's is OK as each will have to give account of our self.

Exactly.. It's changed. It's not our fault. The church didnt start any of this.. But we need to be able to offer a real vision for what God desires for you. He created this all by himself and called it good, not bad.

Jesus isn't afraid to deal with these issues either. He stepped right in between these social sexually charged issues and delivered hurting people.

Sick???

Postby Poimen » January 20th, 2012, 9:56 pm

I haven't seen the youtube, but I heard about the event several day ago on another site and via Charisma (I believe). From what I understand (and I stand open to correction if I am wrong) this couple is simply trying to get Christians to honor, enjoy, understand the importance of, and keep pure the marriage bed. Nothing immoral or immodest is being done or promoted, as far as I know (though I haven't watched, nor felt the need too).

That being said ... If that is sick then I guess apostle Paul was just sick too then, what with teaching on God's will for marriage, for sex in marriage, for benevolence in sex, as well as against the dangers of fornication and/or sexual sins.

I don't think that Paul was sick as he wrote insturctions not demostrated. He wrote about hell but didn't jump in it to show how bad it was.

The world has not changed, it has gotten more open and rotten. When the church get down on the same level with the world then it not long before you can't tell the difference between the two, It has already gotten that way with many. God help us when we become so open minded that any thing can fill it.

oletimer,
The problem is that the "church" has made sex "taboo." It can't be taught or discussed for fear that the world will think that we are the same as them. Now I ask you, which is preferable? That young Christians learn about sex in the context in which God appointed it, or as many of us learned about it, in the back seat of a Chevy? Teenagers and young adults will find a way to learn about sex, that's a basic human function. Your attitude seems to leave little option except for the "back seat." The Church cannot afford to continue to make topics taboo, we must address every aspect of life. To fail to do so only result in people that are not equipped to deal with life as it present itself.

I wouldn't be against special classes of select same sex group at an appropriate age with a God filled person.

As far as my attitude goes, I've be around long enough to have seen what being too relax with the world can do to a child of God.

oletimer,
If you continue to do what you have always done, you will continue to get the same results. What the "church" has done for the last several hundred years (that is making sex a taboo subject) has been a complete failure. Just look at the numbers. We have the same number of divorces, cheating spouses, abusive spouses, and unwed mothers as the population in general. If you doubt that, look at the number of clergy (priest and pastors) that have become involved in sex scandals.

Clarification -- no demonstration taking place!!!

Whoa! I think maybe you've missed a bit f vital information. Hopefully this will clear it up. They are not "going to bed" together (as a euphemism for having sex) on the church roof, in front of the camera's, etc. They are simply broadcasting inspirational and informational talks from a bed atop the property, while fully and modestly dressed. They're not having sex for the world or viewers to see. They are simply talking about the marriage bed in a bedroom setting, just like one might talk about cooking in a kitchen setting.

This is my stand about teaching sex. I have learned over the last fifty years most people (christians included) when given an inch end up taking a mile. Don't say it don't happen for I've seen time and time again.

There is time and place for every thing and I don't think that this is the time for it.

@ TW You keep talking about the church being responsible for making sex a
"(that is making sex a taboo subject)"
the last time I looked it is the Bible (Word of God) that says that sex out side of marriage is sin. A lot of people today think that one shouldn't talk about "Hell" and they want to treat it as taboo, so should we change the message, especially the part on where sin will send you there?

What I see happening is that the more that we change to reach the world the more like the world we become without any thought to rather it is pleasing to God. Today kidds already know more about sex then you and most people over 45yrs did by the time they reached their 18th birthday.

I'm not buying their bull and believe that if most would spend the time they spend on thing like this, teaching about the Love and Blood of Christ and Santification you wouldn't need such [what ever], but as I said early close classes of the same sex with spirit filled leaders. Yes TW I know that nothing is perfect, but we should keep it in its propective.

Oletimer,

Have you watched the youtube clip linked in the OP? Enough at least to get an idea about what they are actually doing and saying? And are you commenting based on that? It seems to me that you probably haven't.

I'm not saying you have to like it, or agree with it. I just want to make sure you are disagreeing on substance. Ya know? If so then I stand corrected. It just seems to me like you might not have, and I wanted to know.

Yes Chris I have heard all of it and it did not impressed. For them to be out there in their bed only adds to the ideal of open sex. I know that they were not to have sex while there.

What the "church" has done for the last several hundred years (that is making sex a taboo subject) has been a complete failure.

TW I don't go along with that as I been mairried 42 years and know many that have married for lot longer than that. I believe that it has been the openness of the world on sex that been the problem.

Because men and women fail God doesn't make it the Church that fail unless the Church is not preaching the whole truth. Preach salvation and santification by the Blood of Christ and believe in what you are preaching and it will do more good then this show that they had.

oletimer,
I stand by my statement. Just look at the statistics and tell me the "church" has had ANY impact on teaching sex in the context which God intended.

From: The Christian Post
Fri, Apr. 04, 2008

The Barna Group found in its latest study that born again Christians who are not evangelical were indistinguishable from the national average on the matter of divorce with 33 percent having married and divorced at least once. Among all born again Christians, which includes evangelicals, the divorce figure is 32 percent, which is statistically identical to the 33 percent figure among non-born again adults, the research group noted.
