Fair enough.
For them to be out there in their bed only adds to the ideal of open sex. I know that they were not to have sex while there.
Really? I find that curious. I suppose then you only watch TV shows that show "husbands and wives" (if that) in different beds, whether they are having sex or not? I like and watch a lot of those shows myself, so this not a slight. I just think it a silly notion to conceive of a man and wife sleeping in separate beds.
As for "open" sex, just what do you mean by that? There is a vulgar secular meaning for that sort of expression, one Newt has recently been put threw the ringer over. Is that what you mean?
If not, then I suppose you mean open conversation about sexuality. if so, again, Paul was pretty open about the subject in Scripture -- especially sexual sin, what it was, how to avoid it, what sex provided to the married couple, who could have sex and who couldn't, right attitudes toward it, etc., and that in a letter to be circulated and read to each church, men and women. And under inspiration of the Holy Ghost at that.
Can one be too open? Too cavalier, detailed, unrestrained, and so forth? Sure. But they shouldn't be the one's teaching.
Now, if more detailed discussion were needed, I agree, same sex classes with appropriate groupings and Godly, apt teachers, is probably the best approach to addressing the subject in a church service or class setting. Also marriage retreats, one on one counseling, etc. But as far as addressing the issues head on, in a general way, I find it both biblically and needful.
Love you brother. Hope you and yours are well.
