Last night, my wife looked on her bank statement online and saw an $800 unauthorized pending charge. This morning in less than 15 minutes, she was able to have it reversed through the music equipment company that had charged her. Lady on the phone at that company this morning told her that they flagged it already and suspected fraud, and that they were going to verify the charge and shipping address with the acct. address before processing it. Now, they won't process it. They have stopped the transaction.

I want to give praise to God for this in the nick of time discovery, the ease of dealing with the merchant who was being used to perpetuate the fraud, and the lightning quick resolution. My wife has a stressful sales and marketing pitch at lunch today and this was a distraction of some magnitude. She handled it with grace and God's grace was way ahead of her.

Amen and thank God.

We experienced a similar incident in 2002 or 03 which involved Macuser as well. Chris and I had eaten at a restaurant for lunch one day. A couple days later I noticed on the online banking about $2,000 in fraudulent charges. I knew that my card number could only have been lifted at a few different places. I decided to ask Chris to check his card and sure enough he had a few thousand in fraudulent charges also.

We gave the information to our respective banks, but I don't think much ever came of criminal charges. The girl's boss wasn't even helpful. Once we found out that the girl's boyfriend had a murder record we backed off pressing any charges of our own. :)

At any rate, to my knowledge we both were taken care of by our respective banks. Thank the Lord.
