Today

Postby Pastor Gary » June 9th, 2012, 4:20 am

Today I graduate from Fuller Theological Seminary with my Masters in Global Leadership. I need to say thanks.

Our COGOP tradition is a good heritage, but for many years it was anti-academic and anti-intellectual, almost seeing the mind as an enemy of the Spirit. Men like Raymond Pruitt, Harold Hunter, Bubba Cardin and Hector Ortiz helped transform our movement from anti-academic to one of the groups most invested in leadership development and opportunities in theological education. Thank you!

1st Presbyterian Church of Honolulu and their pastor, Dr. Dan Chun, believed in me, encouraged me and provided a scholarship that paid my entire seminary tuition! God bless the kingdom minded saints of 1st Prez! MAHALO!

My wife, daughter, and the leaders of Hawaii COGOP put up with my stressed-out, presssured life during the process, and loved me anyway, and allowed me to teach them what I was learning for no credit. Eternal gratitude and love.

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Congrats! The Lord loves a proud doer and both you and your family should be proud. I know from going back to school when I was older that the family deserves the degree almost as much, ha!

Time flies!

Congratulations -- you worked hard and others bear fruit from your labors. True pastoral leadership!

Congradulations my dear friend. Well earned and well deserved.
You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting
and preserving yourself.

May the richest blessing of the LORD be upon Dr Dan Chun, and the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu! What a generous and wonderful gift!

Congratulations, my precious friend of almost 40 years!
